“Um, are you sure it’s okay?” Hikari asked Kyobashi again, as they made their way to the counter.
“For the tenth time, Hikari, yes. I’m going to buy you this necklace.” Kyobashi sighed, rolling his eyes at his fiancée’s hesitation.
“But I have money and-” Kyobashi had to physically stop her from pulling out her wallet.
“A gentleman wouldn’t allow his girlfriend to spend money on things he can buy for her. Besides, it’s a special day.” He said gently, smiling a little.
Hikari snorted. “Uh, since when have you been a gentleman? Aren’t you supposed to be a sex addict? And what’s special about today?” She tilted her head quizzically.
He mentally face-palmed himself. “No, nothing. Never mind, let’s just pay for this, shall we?”
Soon, they got out of the store, Kyobashi carrying several bags of clothing.
“Um…” Hikari was about to volunteer to help out when Kyobashi cut her off.
“It’s fine.” He said, adjusting the bags on his wrist. “It’s not heavy at all, actually, so where do you want to go?”
He offered her a warm smile, which made Hikari suspicious now. She squinted her eyes at him.
“What’s going on…?” She asked, cautiously.
“What? Absolutely nothing.” Kyobashi titled his head, puzzled at her question. “Why do you ask?”
“You aren’t usually this nice.”
“And you’re saying I can’t be nice to my girlfriend for a change…?”
He took her hand in the hand that wasn’t holding anything, brought it to his lips, and kissed it.
Flushing, Hikari pulled her hand away. “O-okay, I get it! I guess you can be nice.” Her eyes darted to the floor, her face turning red from the simple display of affection.
After going to the mall, they walked around the park and got ice cream before deciding to head home.
“Wait here.” Kyobashi told her when they were at the door to his apartment.
“Why?” Hikari raised an eyebrow, suspicious of his behaviour.
“No reason,” He said, bending down and pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Just promise me you’ll wait here.”
She rolled her eyes, but agreed to wait. “Fine.”
From the other side of the door whispers and mutters could be heard.
“Katsuyuki?” Hikari called from outside.
“Um…what’s going on?” She inquired.
“Please be patient.” Was all he responded with.
After a few more moments, the door was opened. Kyobashi was standing there, a mysterious smile on his face.
“Uh, Katsuyuki, what’s going on?” She tried to look past the man standing in front of her, but all she could see was darkness.
“Close your eyes, please.” He instructed her.
Sighing, she did as she was told.
He took her hand and guided her inside the dark room. She heard the flip of a light switch, and felt his breath on her ear. “Open your eyes.”
There was a sound of party poppers.
“SURPRISE!!” Alisha and Kirisawa, and the rest of 2nd Unit all yelled.
“Huh? What?” Hikari was confused for a moment, before it dawned on her. “Oh! It’s my birthday!”
Alisha and Kyobashi both facepalmed.
“Please tell me you didn’t actually forget your own birthday.” Alisha groaned, walking towards Hikari.
“Here.” Alisha said, handing a small bag to her. “It took a while for me to choose, but I hope you like it.” She smiled.
“Umm…” Kirisawa walked towards Hikari, and wrapped an arm around his fiancée’s waist. “As much as possible, don’t open it here.” He was red-faced when he said this while the raven haired woman in his arms giggled.
“So…” Hikari turned to Alisha, ignoring Kirisawa’s warning. “You planned this?”
“Nope.” The latter woman replied, popping the ‘p’. “He did.” Alisha pointed to Kyobashi, who was standing a bit aways from the party, leaning against the wall.
Hikari walked towards him, and he grinned mischievously at her, eyeing the bag she was holding.
“Alisha told me you prepared this party.” She told him, smiling sweetly.
He shrugged. “Someone told me you don’t celebrate your birthday much.”
“Onee-chan!!” As they were conversing, someone had taken the liberty to run to Hikari and wrap their self around her leg.
Hikari looked down. It was Minoru. She giggled at her little brother’s antics.
Alisha sighed, kneeling down to detach Minoru from Hikari’s leg.
Alisha opened her arms to him. “Come on, Minoru, let’s get cake.”
“No.” He shook his head, clinging to his sister’s leg tighter.
This offer made him think for a moment, but he shook his head again. “No.”
“Fine, then I guess I’ll be eating these two delicious bars of Hersheys by myself.”
Alisha walked away, back to her waiting fiancé. She pulled out a chocolate bar, unwrapping it slowly. She broke off a piece and fed it to Kirisawa.
Hikari watched as Minoru watched the scene wistfully. “Chocolate…” He murmured.
She crouched down. “Go on.” She gestured to the girl who’d become like her sister. “Ask Ali-chan for some chocolate. I’m sure she’ll give you some.”
Minoru hesitantly detached himself from Hikari’s leg.
Hikari looked back at Kyobashi, who had a small smile on his face.
“Hey,” He said, wrapping his arms around her waist. “The surprise isn’t over yet, but you’ll have to wait for Valentines Day…”
“Don’t worry,” He continued. She could feel his breath against her ear. “I’ll make up for the wait. Tonight.”
Hikari’s cheeks flushed, but she couldn’t stop herself from mentally marking her calendar for the Fourteenth of February.
I actually finished this like Dec. 12, but wifi was suck so I couldn’t send it to you and ive been tumbrling from my phone and this is the first time i could use the laptop im sorry ;-;
