A small part of him memorized the click of her heels on steel, filing away the sound as she circled him. Staring at him with eyes as precises as scalpels, she assessed him coldly, an unimpressed frown stretching across her thin lips.
Ever still, he stared straight ahead as she left his peripheral vision, stopping just behind him. She spoke up.
“Seriously?” The air shifted as her arm cut through the air. “THIS was your guys’ big plan? Some short stack playing Normbot?”
“Oh honey, don’t be ridiculous.” HER voice cut through his sensors, filling his limited veins with ice as she laughed. “This isn’t your typical cyborg.”
“A little passion project of your mothers.” Doofenshmirtz added lovingly, leaning heavily along the safety railing. Eyes just as sharp as his daughters as he examined his “ex-wife’s” creation, he stroked his beard thoughtfully. “Though I could have sworn he was bigger.”
“Your thinking of Mark-1 dear,” SHE said, clicking her tongue. “This is Mark-2.”
“Ah! Of course! Senior was much bigger.” Snapping his fingers, he brought a hand down to his flattened palm. “Great assistant to Perryborg. Didn’t make it far in field-testing though.”
“So how exactly is pipsqueak supposed to help us reclaim the tristate area?” Vannessa rolled her eyes. “One soldier doesn’t make an army.”
“Trust me dear, with him back home, we won’t need an army.”
