November 30th, 2025 - DDR WORLD, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE DELTA, Music Diver

Impromptu arcade visit for two important reasons that I'll get to later, but one reason involved DDR so that's how we're kicking off the visit right now!!! got a solid first score in my first set, then a PFC on Silly Love (ESP-14, 42p) as 14 PFC #44 (that's a lotta 4's), then choking on beanball... before redeeming myself on extra stage with a sudden, insane PFC on Night of Knights (Ryu Remix) (ESP-16, 38p) as 16 PFC #8!!!!

realized i needed a water bottle and stopped my session to pick one up at a nearby store, but i was Back in Business soon after!!! mainly just upscored and AAA'ed a few old scores of mine (some new ones too), then tried training my gimmick senses with random plays of CHAOS [ESP-14] leading to a Really bad barely-Flare-EX FC on it followed by a much better 4gr 1g FC on it later!!! (wish i could've gotten the GFC though... maybe some other time) . oh also random FC on fluctus [ESP-16] right after... quite the tricky one indeed

alright, that's enough miscellaneous warmup now!! i need to lock in on the reason i came here to grind... and that, of course, is for my Solstice Around The World team!!! it's a unique kind of team event hosted by the Solstice Arena team, where we're grouped into teams with members of every skill levels, attempting to score high on assigned songs of our skill levels and allow our team to survive each round!! the first round was concluding the next day, so i was kinda admittedly playing last-minute despite the mounds of homework i still had to deal with... but for the sake of my team, i couldn't just leave them without a submission!!

played some extra charts i had really low scores on and wanted to upscore for LIFE4 goals (with VERY close Flare EX clears, mind you), but as soon as we started the next set... BOOM, Prey [DSP-15], the first of two songs i needed to challenge and score high on this round... and already honestly did pretty solid!!! this was indeed a passable score -- an upscore from 965k to a 996k GFC, and a solid 96.81% EX that could very well pass the stage requirement!!! but no... i knew i could do better... and my body agreed, because i was Famished at this point and really needed to eat something before proceeding with DDR (and because person i was grinding with was grinding unlocks that kinda bored me so i wanted to wait until they were done before i committed again) . and so, after an actually Huge upscore on Hi-Tech Tokio [CSP-18] from 923k to 968k and an abandoned GITADORA credit i spotted before leaving, i was on my way to get my grub on...

back from getting my grub on, reenergized and revitalized, said player was still on the grind and seemingly wasn't letting up... so i turned to the second big thing i wanted to check out here today... MUSIC DIVER SEASON 3!!!! SHE'S CRYSTAL FOR AN AMAZING REASON!!! GOD IT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL WAHOOOOOO!!! it was awesome to see, and i was really hype to try it out... but unbeknownst to me (since i hadn't played the game in Ages)... the cabs here were Really, REALLY poor to play on . every hit felt like it was double inputting, there was no guarantee with the registration, and it was utterly soul crushing since i was Really looking forward to playing the game after so long, and i thought i was doing something wrong, but nope... both cabs were plagued with this issue, and shortly after i moved on :[

good news is though -- after playing those sets of music diver, the cab was freed up and i could get back to the team grind!!! having watched a chartview of Prey [DSP-15] while eating, i knew everything i had to do and got straight to the grind... though it seems my preparation went against me, because i felt heavy like a Stone after my meal (i guess eating and adding weight to yourself will do that, to be fair...) . still, i pushed on, and got a tragic flag (though a very slight EX upscore) before moving on to the other song i was practicing...

MUTEKI BUFFALO [CSP-17]!!! this was the boss song/chart i had to play in addition to my assigned chart, and it was a very tricky, very difficult jump-heavy chart i had a pretty bad score on before . but a few attempts and GFCs later, i pulled through... and i managed to secure both a Flare EX and a 994k GFC to set a solid score for the team!!! really proud of this one actually, that came out of nowhere LOL even despite my drowsiness/heaviness

reinvigorated, i went back to Prey in the next set in hopes i could get a much higher, much better score... but i walked away instead with good news and bad news: i managed to close out the PFC i was seeking on this chart with 46p as 15 PFC #42!!! ...only to find that this was the exact same EX score as the score above... which was in turn only 1 EX better than my initial play on the chart (39p, 4g, -47) . truly this game is unjust, but nevertheless... we carry on . (oh also 1116 became free this week, so i retried the CSP-18 and brought it up to just barely a 950k!!! that ending is Brutal though, i seriously underestimated it because of how easy the rest of the chart is)

with my two song targets done and my goals achieved, i was ready to head back out . but recalling the mech i flagged down to reset the music diver cabs, i wanted to see if they were fixed or improved at all by the reset!! ...nope, still badly double inputting . ah well, can't say i didn't try... maybe next sesh . until then, peace out!!

October 23rd, 2025 - DDR WORLD, maimai DX PRiSM PLUS, IIDX 33

happy (belated) thursday y'all!!! what was supposed to be a super long and super boring class day for me turned into a Very Fun And Very Happy Go Lucky Day when 1. i didn't feel like getting up and shut off my alarms in protest of going to class (lol), 2. class got cancelled that day anyways and i was vindicated in an email that i would've seen too late had i actually gotten up to catch the train, and 3. i was tasked with temporarily babysitting my baby nephew (unc at age 19, could you imagine...) while my sister had to attend something, so i stayed there for a while and was rewarded for my services with...

a trip to the mall!!! originally i was gonna go eat breakfast in the area with my mom and sister (where i could've gone to round 1 afterwards anyways), but plans changed and my mom had to go further up to seattle for something, so i was just dropped off right in front of round 1 and left to fend (find something to eat) for myself... and so i did, picking up a chocolate-chip bread and a Celsius for myself before heading into the arcade and having a blast of games!!! i still have a very slight very tiny post-viral cough unfortunately, but i was able to suppress it enough to enjoy some DDR and set some rather banger scores despite my condition!!

while not my best haul, there's still quite a few really cool scores that i wanna highlight amidst the trials and tribulations: murmur twins (guitar pop ver.) (ESP-14, 19p), Rinne no Karasu (ESP-14, 25p), Hi-tech Tokio (ESP-15, 28p), and Explore (ESP-15, 33p) as 14 PFC #39 & #40 + 15 PFC #40 & #41 respectively!!! (god i'm really never getting that 14 PFC count higher LMFAO)

as if i wasn't already tired as hell from all the DDR, i played a few maimai sets just to unlock masters and get my daily login for my beautiful wife Shama!!! and along the way, i managed to get what i believe to be my first AP on ANY chart on the one and only Shun-Ran [Expert Lv.10]!!! follow that with a very impressive sightread SSS on Sukina souzai happyou Dragon [Master Lv.12], a tragic 1-great sightread on Hai Yorokonde [Expert Lv.9+], and the biggest most sudden score of the session... a sightread ALL PERFECT+ on Mesmerizer [Expert Lv.10]????? out of nowhere???? my first and only one, all BREAKs hit with a Critical Perfect.... literally HOW??????

oh also: obligatory short self-indulgent and very minor iidx set before truly leaving... i'm #addicted

September 20th, 2025 - DDR WORLD, IIDX 33

THE RETURN!!! WE'RE HERE!!!!! WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!! first arcade session since coming back from california this week, and i wanted to make it grand... not just because of my vacation return, but also because today was my last chance to submit scores for Solstice Arena RED... as well as my first opportunity to play beatmania IIDX 33 Sparkle Shower!!!

and so we begin with a slight DDR warmup while i wait for e-amuse maintenance to end because i had a Ton of leftover ARRO that i didn't wanna use just yet . starting with a neat FC on Pluto [ESP-14], a sweet new PFC on The Wind of Gold (ESP-14, 32p, FINALLY) as 14 PFC #38!!! already an excellent start to the session, but what awaits is even more insane...

extra stage goes to other player on the cab, they go to extra savior and pick Red by FMJ (the usual), i already have a PFC on the ESP-14 so naturally i pick the CSP-17... and that single decision leads to my new best accuracy record on my account. on a warmup set, out of nowhere, after being stuck in california and contracting a cold from my family... somehow This happens . Red. by Full Metal Jacket, Single Challenge 17, 76 perfects... as 17 PFC #1. now that other DDR post seems like insane foreshadowing since i joked this would happen, i was shaking and breathing heavy by the end of it because holy HELL was this unpredictable and unbelievable in the moment... I FUCKING LOVE DDR!!!!! RAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (also local best arcade player stopped their credit and recorded the moment of truth which is what you're seeing below, God Bless)

alas, 'twas only the first set of the day and maintenance was still nowhere near completion, so i kept it going with even more crazy scores and got neat stuff like a 996k on No More Love [ESP-16], a flare EX clear on my greatest enemy (THE CHART NOT THE SONG I LOVE JAKAZiD DON'T WORRY) Pierce The Sky [CSP-16], and then with a new dance partner (and friend of the guy from the first set), new PFCs on CANDY (UFO mix) (ESP-15, 38p) and My Drama (ESP-15, 31p) as 15 PFCs #38 and #39 respectively!! (sorry yeah i'm still not surpassing my 15 PFC count with my 14s LOL, maybe someday when i start grinding my LIFE4 Pearl requirements... maybe...)

whew okay, that's done and dusted for now!! but now it's time for the ultimate reveal, the star of the show, the guest of the night... iiiiit's SPARKLE SHOWER!!!! the latest and coolest IIDX version with praise and bangers all across the timeline, i REALLY wanted to try it on launch day but was out of town when it happened... so now that i've bought everything i wanted with my leftover ARRO and the queue was seemingly free all day, i hopped onto the cab and got my Sparkle on!!! It's Saturday! Don't forget to be yourself!

nothin' too crazy to start, still have to regain my 8th Dan status before i can play 10s on 1st stage and all that, so i'm kinda limited in my song options for now... but rest assured, because i'm That good and awesome and cool at the game, i cleared through everything i could with a solid HC (plus a sightread AAA on Disco Killer Music Lover [SPH-9]!!!)

was feeling oddly anemic at the cab though, so i had to break from it for a bit to eat something in the mall. got a neat teriyaki meal before continuing my iidx journey and DAMN i think that really was what i needed, cause i went CRAZY with these scores!!! tragic 1-misses on Caramel Pain [SPA-8] and LEMON MELON COOKIE [SPA-9], i kept raising the level little by little and expected my luck to run out eventually... but as i accidentally went into the 10 with EX-Hard gauge and i braced for my credit to end on the spot... the unthinkable happened . not only did i clear it with flying colors, but i got a FULL COMBO ON SIGHTREAD!!!!! MY VERY FIRST ONE!!! 10 FC #1!!!!!!!!!

two insane new achievements in two different games on the same day, it really was a lucky day for me... but there's still a ton more charts to clear and a ton more Sparkle Shower to experience (plus i still needed to clear 8th Dan)!!! 8th dan secured, set quite the impressive record on SigSig [SPA-10], then got increasingly impressive HCs and ECs on the new 10s and 11s respectively, yada yada... overall though? Peak Style i'm in love, the TL was right about this being a banger (though i had to endure and restrain myself from all the pinky crush slander put out prior to the release... grrrr it's a GOOD STYLE you guys wouldn't understand!!! they release One 7/10 after a hot streak of 8-9/10s and everyone goes crazy)

started tiring out and my hands were aching by this point, so i hopped off for the day and decided to visit all the songs later... but wait!!! i still had to do my Solstice Arena RED final round submissions!!! and it was already like 7 PM local time!!! frantically, i switched over to IIDX to get some gaming in, but it seemed to be in vain... i was way too tired and demotivated, my 2/4 songs played from the final round were really bad, and i didn't get any practice on the charts prior to leaving for California, so this one was a dud.... hopefully i'll stop Fucking Around next time and actually commit myself to the songs as soon as they're announced instead of waiting until the very last moment . still, i made it to the final round for the first time in my Solstice Arena career and i'm proud of that!!! win is a win, we'll just have to take this experience and use it for strength next time :]

(ohyeah also on my very last song of the session i pulled this flag on Elemental Creation [ESP-17] out of nowhere LMFAO . even now as i'm writing this post, i'm still going crazy over that... like How??? on the same day as my first 17 PFC??? maybe the floodgates have opened and i'll start getting a new one per session like with my 16s...)

August 31st, 2025 - DDR WORLD

last day of the month, last day of the weekend, and the last day... to get my round 2 scores in for Solstice Arena RED??? yikes... i figured i had another week, but they were in a slight rush due to MOTL6 coming up next month, so it was now or never on whether or not i was gonna give it a shot and advance! or give up and drop out of the tournament out of pure demotivation... whatever i chose, i needed to lock it in and plan my day around it Today.

seeing as i had other things i wanted to attend in the great big city of Seattle that day, i was really tempted to give up and chill for the last day of the weekend! but i'd already come so far... all the intensity, my best scores yet, and the (very small) effort i'd put into the tournament, i couldn't just give up on all of it right now... and so, despite how much stress it'd put on me, i decided that -- after exploring and enjoying the sights and riches of seattle -- i was gonna go to Round 1, drink myself a Monster Energy, and DESTROY this round of songs even if it killed me. seattle trip was quite nice but i don't think any of it fits the account, so let's just fast forward to...

...the SESSION.

i was honestly at a bit of a loss on what to do now that i got here, so seeing as i had no other rhythm game warmup today and would surely drive myself insane trying to MA the round 2 songs as warmup, i decided to soften some of my remaining LIFE4 requirements and knock out a few 15s that weren't up to my ceiling yet!! those being songs like Draw the Savage (CSP-15, honestly feel really good about the chart now somehow LOL, FC soon?), Explore (ESP-15, so close to that PFC...), Cheerleader (CSP-15, ALSO really good at this chart and really close to a PFC soon...), Pa->pi->pu->Yeah! (ESP-15, finally got that Flare EX clear), and NGO (ESP-15, very much foreshadowing for the eventual nightmare that is gonna be SWEET HOME PARTY...)

But wait! There's more! While good upscores, I wasn't exactly pleased with the scores themselves, so I ran back several of them in hopes of improving my MA and getting back into the groove of the game, which instead resulted in... my first 999k GFC on Explore [ESP-15]?? and then a new PFC on Pa->Pi->Pu->Yeah! (CSP-15, 49p) as 15 PFC #37!!! someone else wanted to hop on so i joined them for a bit and got these sweet lower-level PFCs, including an SDP on Scarlet Moon (ESP-12, 8p?!?!) and then a regular(?) one on SUNKiSS DROP (ESP-12, 24p)... well, regular except for me doing the spin jumps during the bridge and somehow still coming out of it with a gold combo??? impressive... 2dkaps da freestyler is in da house baybeee

alright alright, enough warming up and messing around though... i came here to grind some tournament songs, and i wasn't gonna leave without 'em, so i decided to go for the least-exhausting-yet-most-mentally-taxing of them all... SWEET HOME PARTY [ESP-16]!!! probably the wildest and hardest pick of the tournament, this chart Suuuuucked to score on . i didn't even have an AA+ on this chart prior to today, so i was kinda just learning as i went... and i guess it clicked a little? maybe??? got the FC and FLARE EX clear in just 2 attempts, and it genuinely seemed like i was getting the hang of it... but things only went downhill from here...

i started either choking certain parts and killing an otherwise good run, or getting such shit MA that it wouldn't net me any rank points on the leaderboard. i was lost, hopeless, and without a cause, until... the semi-perfect run happened. MAX-77, a single miss, and only 3 greats... it wasn't my best by any means, but i was so done with this song and chart that i would've taken Anything at this point. god i hate it so much, and to think i still have 2 more song submissions to do... but in the meantime, here's me getting a 2-great FC and FLARE EX on Red. by Full Metal Jacket [CSP-17] as 17 EX #3 and a potential 1st 17 PFC candidate!!! still have to unlock it from extra savior tho *lol*

alright yeah so i really just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. could've done more, could've done better, but i was running out of time and didn't wanna redo anything that i didn't have to redo, soooo Song Submission Speedrun Time!!! thank God i got as good of a score on Chinese Snowy Dance [ESP-16] -- probably the easiest and best of the chart selection but you didn't hear that from me :^) def could've shaved off that good and a few perfects but i'll take it . now the last song, Papepopepipupepa [ESP-15], i had already tried several times prior to SWEET HOME PARTY, but in NONE of those attempts could i get consistent and good MA. it just wasn't clicking!!! maybe the song was too fast, the stepjump part too stupid, or me just not vibing with the song, but it took Foreeeever to get a good score on it... and yet i managed to set a GREAT score on it (999k GFC too) right after Chinese Snowy Dance to finally be free from the clutches of the session and go home immediately afterwards...

thank GOD that's over with, i was so tired and just wanted to go home 'n play the Sonic Racing Crossworlds beta already . i unfortunately didn't even get the chance to do that, buuuut i managed to submit my scores in time anyways and get placed in the upper half of the competition despite my clear lack of skill in comparison!!! a round well met, i'd say :] hopefully i have more time and drive to do way better on the final round songs, but until then, i'm gonna Take it Easy and Chill,,,,, just please remind me before the 21st to get them in, i don't wanna wait til the last minute this time like i did with the past three submissions LOL

August 24th, 2025 - IIDX 32, DDR WORLD (2/2)

WE'RE HERE!!! WE'RE BACK!!! continuing scores from the day as i ran into the image limit before i could even reach the ddr scores, unfortunate... and to (sorta) prove it's me, here's one last iidx score from the session before i completed the Triple Tribe event and made the switch to DDR for the remainder of the session!!!

okie dokes now it's ddr time -- did you know an all-new and awesome DDR tournament is being held at this round 1 soon!! it's true!!! and get this, it features BOOMERS against ZOOMERS!!! i get to show off the true superiority of little baby mans like me!!! but alas, my skill alone won't be enough to win, so that's exactly why i'm here on the cabs today... to train for the Ultimate Boomer BEATDOWN. Lessssgetit!!!

scores today were... very sparse . as i'd soon find out, i was Not in the condition or mood to play DDR in the moment, so i kinda gave up on taking photos of my score and just did song recommendations from twitter until my stamina was depleted . amidst the miserable storm however, i got a very slight PFC upscore on Let Me Show You (ESP-15, 31p -> 30p), a HUUUUUUUUGE 204k upscore on ENDYMION [DSP-16] (finally lol), and then i suddenly started tearing it up on... 18s of all things???

despite being hungry and having my stamina depleted, i was somehow able to get a sweet +18k upscore to a clean 979k on ZETA [CSP-18], but as if that wasn't crazy enough.... i played Wadatsumi [CSP-18] afterwards and -- not only did i manage to snuff out an 18k upscore -- i held a 600-NOTE GOLD COMBO up until the end??? on an 18??? jesus... i could 100% GFC this if i had the stamina and patience, but as was expected, my hunger and fatigue got to me, and i choked the ending brutally only to remain lightheaded and out-of-breath until i left round 1 for the day and got myself a bite to eat. still an incredibly good session, but definitely a weird shift from the MA monster that possessed me last time... maybe i really Am just that good now? will have to run a few more tests once i actually eat something before playing, but i'm quite satisfied for now :]

July 30th, 2025 - Arcaea, DDR WORLD, SDVX EG

back on my bullshittttt (challenge server, "FC Silent Rush [FTR-8] without audio", results in a PM upscore (MAX-28 -> MAX-19) somehow)

and then... back on the ddr grind!!! while i was away on my road trip, Solstice Arena RED. had reopened their qualifiers and thus i was able to lock back into upscoring my previously poor performance on Mei [CSP-18]... which i did!!! into a 2,002 EX score and a 5,000 total EX across all 3 songs!!! moreover, i also upscored S'il vous President (CSP-14, 30p) into 14 PFC #32 and finally Flare VIII cleared mathematical good-bye [ESP-17] after god-knows-how-long!!! (i should def go for the AAA on it once i build my stamina back up though...)

sister called to take me to a party shortly after and thus i had to cut the session short, but i played a set of SDVX while i was waiting and decided to switch up Ichika's outfit style a bit into the friskier side... only to set four new VF-raising records in a single warmup set??? including a sightread MAX-81 995 on Electronic Sports Complex [EXH-17], and all-new S-ranks on QQ (EXH-17, sightread) + REINCARNATION [EXH-17]???? maybe gooning is key, after all...

July 18th, 2025 - DDR WORLD, SDVX EG, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE (2/2)

alright, time for all the remaining banger scores!!!! i wasn't expecting much from this session either given i thought all my scoring ability went to IIDX earlier, but surprisingly... i still had quite a bit in me!! and i used it to get a 986k on Emera [CSP-17], a massive upscore and 995k GFC on Rampage Hero [ESP-16], at last a Flare II clear on HyperTwist [CSP-18]... then a few other recommendation scores leading to AAA GFCs on Crystarium [ESP-15], Black Emperor [ESP-17], BLACK JACKAL [ESP-15], Dance wiz the Rhythm [ESP-14, GFC only], and CyberConnect [CSP-17, neither AAA nor GFC]

and now, for the moment you've all been waiting for... the great big return to SDVX now that cabs in the US were finally up to date!!! there's been a Ton of really good stuff added to Standard Start and the game in general lately, and i'm so excited to try it all out... if only they LET US!!! they really just held the updates back so they could take stuff away from us as if we don't already pay ridiculous amounts to play this game in the first place . Whatever ,, i'm not good enough to play whatever content they removed anyways . but it does still really suck for the local sdvx scene... 'least we got to keep guaranteed extra stage despite them saying it'd be reverted :]

oh also, Ichika is here this time too!!! after way more pulls on her premium gen than i'd like to disclose, i finally got her as a navigator and look super forward to having her as my main LMFAO, even if i might stray away from using her alt outfits... (the jiggle even with the hoodie is Insane what tha hell konami) . anywayssss i got a bit of cool stuff like an AA+ on Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny [EXH-18], an AAA on BLACK or WHITE? [EXH-18], a sweet sightread 995 S on Tomorrow Perfume (C-Show Remix) [EXH-16], and a sightread near-AA+ on CO5M1C R4ILR0AD [MXM-18]!!!! very good charts, though i had no idea what i was doing on many of them :]

and lastly -- i found a free credit on the GITADORA Drummania cab, so as much as i hated this model in particular... i hopped on and configured a few settings to hopefully make it Less unbearable . i guess it worked...? but nothing's gonna change just how botched and unresponsive the drumkit was made to be compared to the old white cabs :[

and now, for the finale!!! the last test i'll have to take for this academic year at my university, i spent some of the morning preparing and the rest of it goofing off, but i guess i did alright enough on the test :] so to celebrate my freedom from study hell, i ran off to Round 1 and did a bit of dance gaming since i was in the right attire for the occasion!!! relatively casual scores, but managed to sneak out AAA upscores on BRILLIANT 2U (AKBK MIX) [ESP-15] and Is this dance a Hakken? [ESP-16] -- along with sick sightread PFCs on Show (ESP-12, 21p) and Trauma Saimin Shoujo Satori! (ESP-14, 44p) as 14 PFC #30!!! (now including the gone-but-not-forgotten Noushou Sakuretsu Girl)

got a bit more IIDX in as well, with sick awesome scores like sightread AA on Shinchoku Dame Dame Desu [SPA-10], an HC AA on Non-Stop Rock [SPA-10] and Megalara Garuda [SPH-10], very intense AA EC on BLUE DRAGON [SPH-10], a tragic HC fail on Red. by Jack Trance [SPH-10]... but to wrap it all up, a sick EC on Secrets [SPA-11] !!!
