Greetings to all from far and wide! Whether you're a long-time follower, a mutual from another platform, or just someone who stumbled in through searches, I offer my sincerest welcome to my humble rhythm gaming abode!! This sideblog is where I share everything I've got to share with regards to rhythm gaming, ranging from new scores to personal comments to reflections on events/sessions! Alas, I'm rather verbose in my passionate writing of these comments, so I sincerely apologize if the scroll seems daunting,,,

For some backstory, I was first introduced to music games in 2011 when my dad arrived with an Xbox 360 w/ Kinect and the latest Dance Central (2010) game. Being only 5 years old at the time, I kinda sucked at the game and was immediately disinterested. But over time, I kept at it until I could 100% complete game on Easy, then Medium, then Hard, an improvement met with more Kinect dance games that I continued to complete and love fondly.

However, it wasn't until 2018 that I started playing my first true rhythm game: "RoBeats!", which (despite being a Roblox game) taught me a ton about other rhythm games through songs and fundamentals. I stuck with RoBeats and osu!mania for some time until I stumbled upon videos of arcade rhythm games in Summer of 2019, and wondered if I'd ever get the chance to play them myself. Then, just as September 2019 began, I visited my local Round 1 arcade with family and saw almost every rhythm game that I'd seen in those videos I saw over the summer. It was a beautifully overwhelming and overstimulating sight, and hyperfixated little 13-year old me was excited to try all of them.

I started visiting whenever I had the chance to exclusively play the rhythm games, slowly warming up to each of them until I settled on my initial least favorite, DanceDanceRevolution. And soon after, I joined this online community of arcade rhythm gamers and had so many beautiful encounters there, from making new long-time friends to even visiting dedicated remote events, ones that filled me with an indescribable euphoria that I just couldn't keep to myself. So as a personal passion project attempt to describe these feelings, I've dedicated this blog to archive every rhythm game score I've gotten since that fateful September 2019, including the aforementioned comments and reflections! I hope through these posts that I can articulate my love and passion for the scene and its art as best as possible, and I hope it can be an enjoyably entertaining scroll for you as well! ...though given that's 5 years of content and counting, it's a rather long scroll, so I apologize in advance or belatedly...

MEEEERRY CHRIIISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! "but aren't you writing this in mar-"shhhhhh . just pretend it's the holiday season, right? everyone likes the holiday season, even outside the season .

buuut anyways, big vivid/stasis christmas update dropped that shook up the rating system and started the final rush party fashionably late . i was at home with nothing better to do, so i indulged in it a bit and filled out my EX score slots while going down the list of songs i had yet to play to fill out my completion rating too . t'was still a notable day though, because i got sweet new FCs on both execution_program and Rafflesia (both [FINALE 16+]) in the process !!! oh also a really funny near-V rank on SUPERNOVA [ENCORE 17] with no greats LOL, i just wanted the plat EX rank after all

December 24th, 2025 - PLATiNA :: LAB

ok NOW i'm on an arcade rhythm break for real this time, but it wasn't exactly the complete end of my rhythm game run... for i still had my home PC and mobile rhythm games to play!!! since i was gonna be away from home pretty much all day today, you'd think i'd be playing all the mobile rhythm games today... but nope!! it's just platina lab . and for good reason, because i challenged myself today to play the sasakure.UK song pack!!!

along the way, i ranked up to TERA P.A.T.C.H rank in 4 Lines and set some... admittedly mediocre sightreads on both the original Kamui [4L OVER 27] and the big secret Kamui (PLATiNA :: LAB Remix) [4L OVER 28] at the end!! also played a bit more random stuff and got APs on Mrs. Jacqueline's Melancholy [4L OVER 26, MAX-67 (lol)] and AO-Infinity [4L OVER 25, MAX-41]!! i can def raise those some other time, but not today... it's off to da christmas party for me!!!

December 23rd, 2025 - SDVX EG, PIU 2024 PHOENIX, DDR WORLD, PLATiNA :: LAB

...huh? we're back so soon? but i thought... i thought yesterday was the grind day...

...well, it was! yesterday was the last day i wanted to go for the year, as the arena season was about to end and i wanted to enjoy the rest of the holidays with my family before i went back into action and grind . BUT!!! i had to do some christmas gift shopping for my parents before all the stores either closed or got packed, and word on the street was that the once-mythical SDVX 7 (NABLA) was set to release not next year, not next week, not tomorrow, but TODAY (12/24 in Japan) . i didn't believe it, i thought it wouldn't come out here at the same time, but every one of my worries before had already been disproven... what's to say this wouldn't be the same? so in a bit of a dizzied state and in the worst of conditions to attend, i bussed up to round 1 and hopped on the cab to play my final few sets of Exceed Gear before it went away...

didn't really get a lot of scores in, all things considered, but they were pretty good for my final set of the update!! got me a MAX-11 (wtf) PUC on Tomorrow Perfume (tpz Despair Remix) [EXH-13], and ended with my final play, of both the day and of Exceed Gear, on Typhoon Craaaash!! [GRV-18]. it's been a good 4-and-a-half-year run, Exceed Gear. i'll certainly miss you... uh... some other time i guess? probably not for a year or so; you Did last 4x that amount, after all . but eventually i will... just you wait!

...huh, that's funny . playing my last exceed gear set of the night didn't magically cause the cabs to update . how could this be?

i'm kidding, buuut even as arcades in Korea and Japan started getting the updates, we were still stuck with no sign of them for the time being . maybe i was right after all... maybe we wouldn't get it for another few days, kinda like how our iidx updates are always delayed or messed up one way or another until they magically get fixed a few days later . but since i already declared my farewells and wasn't about to wait around a cab for a few hours for an update i wasn't even sure was gonna happen, i went to the next best cab and update from yesterday... PUMP IT UP!!! specifically to Only Play the New All I Want for X-Mas Charts and Nothing Else . dude i've been so hyped to play these ever since they were announced samfjsadj;l it alone was a supplementary reason to go to round 1 yesterday even if i wasn't sure the update was releasing that day either . but it's here... it's beautiful... it's all i ever wanted... for x-mas

(bonus note: all of these were played back-to-back across two sets, as evident by the credit result breakdowns below . i am fucking HOOKED on this song)

even with those plays however, the update for SDVX still wasn't here, and i lost hope that it'd release today . so with my head semi-low yet still on the high from playing All I Want for X-mas, i shifted to the other dance game to do a little bit of stamina draining before i went home . a good choice too, as i managed two 17 Flare EX FCs on Step This Way [CSP-17] and Plain Asia -PHQ remix- [CSP-17] - Both sightreads, too!!!

soooo that was the end of the visit for me, and i went home satisfied with at least having played my last few sets of Exceed Gear with honor before the rollover into the next version . yet what do i see a few hours later but the update happening at my arcade and sdvx nabla being released... if only i had stayed until closing!!! buuuuut i really was exhausted, and i was also carrying a bunch of bags full of presents that definitely wouldn't have survived the night had i stuck around . so ah well... maybe next time . here's a random sightread PFC on PLATiNUM DRIVE [4L OVER 27, MAX-70] from today on PLATiNA :: LAB i got out of spite (just kidding, it was before i even went to the mall, but ehhh still counts)

December 22nd, 2025 - GITADORA GALAXY WAVE, SDVX EG, maimai DX PRiSM PLUS, PIU 2024 PHOENIX

oughhh.... god i desperately needed a break from rhythm gaming after that all-nighter the day before, and i guess i sorta got it by not playing for the rest of the day after getting back home and crashing in bed? but of course, there's never any rest for the wicked, and my time arcade rhythm gaming for the year wasn't up just yet... for a certain event was ending soon -- SDVX EG's final ARENA season, in time for the imminent release of SDVX NABLA!!! i've never really cared for arena in my time playing the game, but this particular season drew me in... namely for Nana. i wanted the Nana navigator . i needed the Nana navigator . and i was GONNA get the Nana navigator no matter what it took . so off i was once again to the arcade, ready to game and claim my fame... right after this quick drummania credit i stole to clear Setsuna Trip [EXT 5.70]!!!

alright alright, but after that came the REAL grind... the ARENA grind!! ...ngl i was expecting a lot more people at least online since, y'know, final arena season of the version and all that . but nope... got put up against bots the whole time and didn't get to show off my Sick Voltex Skillz to anyone except the cold, indifferent, glowing rasis silhouettes . but no matter... i was getting 1st in every match because the bots all SUCK, and more victories meant more Arena Points which meant quicker progress towards claiming Nana in the shop!!!

ah right, i guess i picked up some cool scores along the way, but nothing awfully significant towards my VF or best scores . all that changed, however, when a random near-Crimson VF player joined me in arena and started beating the shit out of me in almost every single song... except for waxing and wanding [MXM-18], where i ALMOST secured an AAA+!!! ...i think that was enough for VF, but i don't think arena displays that sort of thing on the results screen??? disappointing, but hey! you can still see the Number Go Up

finally, after a billion years of grind and torture and nonstop arena matches, i finally had her... Nana!!! She!!! Her!!! La creatura!!! WOO!!!!!!!! i was finally free from arena,,,, but i was still here and didn't wanna end my session slaving away at unlocks, so i kept the momentum going by playing normal mode and goofing off with random song picks (like a VF up from an AAA on STEEL NEEDLE [MXM-18]) + unlocks (near-AAA sightread on Re:miniscence [EXH-18]!!!

but ough... as much as i wanted to play more voltex, arena knocked the wind out of me and i wasn't able to set any other good scores besides those three . so i moved onto another hand game... maimai!!! didn't really expect to see anyone here this late on a weekday (even if it was the holidays) but i did play with someone else... and we eventually matched ratings too!!! t'was a very funny moment indeed

and just when i thought i was done and ready to leave... the newest update for PIU 2024 PHOENIX dropped!!! i was super torn, as i was already exhausted from grinding the hell out of SDVX, but i remember seeing the Huge, Massive, Incredible chart reveals of new higher difficulty for All I Want for X-Mas, and i HAD to play those!!! so i returned from walking to the bus stop and played a credit... but the cab required a restart to play the update, someone else was playing as well, and it just wasn't worth it . all that for nithing... but hey!! got an upscore on ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX D19 and an AAA clear on Deca Dance D20, so i guess it wasn't all bad :p now, at long last, i can leave and relax at home...

December 20th, 2025 (3/3) - CHUNITHM LUMINOUS PLUS, Arcaea

At long last... after a full year of not continuing the holiday party series of posts and being too locked in on frivolous things like """homework"""... I'm finally finishing off what I started, in hopes that this gets me to finally catch up on all the scores I've gotten since I stopped posting to this account. Heavily overdue, yes, but hey!! It should be smooth sailing from here on out... hopefully. So let's get through this last batch of scores... together!!!

...huh. that was it? that's all i had to include to finish off the thread? just five extra chunithm scores and me throwing on arcaea a few times without audio? hmph.... well in fairness, the SS on Jingle bells [ULTIMA 14+] was pretty solid i guess... and maybe so was the S+ on parvorbital [MASTER 15]...? definitely could do better if i put in the effort to learn the chart though... which i definitely should do sometime .

buuuut other than those two scores, that's kinda it for the holiday party! little anticlimatic to finish the sequence after over a month with such little fanfare, but genuinely this night was AMAZING and i had a ton of fun!!! didn't think i would hold out this long playing such exhausting arcade games either, especially DDR Doubles!!! but somehow i did... and i lived until morning to see the sun rise, the traffic pick back up, and help with cleaning the arcade after the fact so that i could go home half-conscious and crash asleep . i've had my fill of rhythm games for both the day in the post and the day today after all, so next post may or may not be skipping a date... but y'know what? #Worth

December 20th, 2025 (2/3) - Groove Coaster, CHUNITHM LUMINOUS PLUS, maimai PRiSM, DJMAX Technika, EZ2AC, WACCA PLUS

Previously on 2dkapsddr...! The clock struck 2 AM, leaving us officially halfway into this all-nighter of an arcade rhythm gaming session!! Kaps played some maimai after recovering from DDR doubles, only to get destroyed and severely regret it!! The energy drinks from earlier are wearing out and aren't keeping our beloved scoreposter awake much!!! A groove coaster score left out from yesterday's scores due to tumblr's stupid image limit!!! And a clock that counts down to the dreadful closing time of 9 AM... will our hero survive the night and cement himself in terrible decision-making arcade rhythm gamer history??? Find out in today's (or possibly the next) post!!!

i can't lie, i'm feeling sleepy and woozy as hell as i'm writing this, but it's honestly the perfect condition with regards to this night!! i mean, i visited the arcade on both days and am staying awake until 2 am, so there's really no difference if you think long and hard about it! but no matter... let's get back on track with the barrage of miscellaneous and confusing scores (mainly song suggestions across every single game available here), starting with a sightread SSS FC on Netsu Ijou [MASTER Lv.14]! then another random ass set of maimai! then DJMAX Technika 3 song suggestions + clears!

shocking to me was my ability to still analyze, study, and execute charts + critically think this late into the night. maybe it was the sugar subsiding and the caffeine reaching a moderate level...? still had ~6 hours left of gaming to do though, so i had to use this little window of time to the fullest!!! and i also happened to have a few song suggestions in a few particular games, so i came, saw, played TECHNOPOLIS [MASTER Lv.14+], and after several tragic plays... i got an FC!!! that's 14+ FC #2 i think!!!! maybe!!!!! plus some rating at that!!!! (also funky little Hardcore Syndrome [MASTER Lv.14+] SS+)

i'm ngl, by this point i was getting Really tired and the caffeine was wearing off slowly but surely... i could still play and grind ofc, but the constant switches between games and focuses was the only thing keeping me from just falling asleep on the chair . there was one last hope though... WACCA!!!! hadn't played it all this time and was hesitant due to the absolute workout it was, buuuut i'd already played maimai all day today, what's one more full-field circle workout game? and so began the non-stop grind, both to play songs suggested by my friends prior to coming here and to fill out my rating slots that have been so empty and so low for so long... just your average 1300 rating scores LOL .

i actually kept cycling through games even without filling my wacca B60 (even though it would make way more sense to do it now with infinite time and an open queue(?)) as i still had several more hours to go (have to stay awake) and several more song suggestions from friends to play while i was here... leading to some rather sick EZ2AC (5K Standard) clears like Aquaris [HD 9], Houseplan [HD 9], Sand Storm [HD 10], and even MacGuffin #EZ [SHD 11] with a very solid A+!!! groove coaster's slightly less climactic (besides the near-FC on Smash a mirror [Hard 9] and S+ on Battle Against a True Hero [Hard 9] ig) as the cabs had somehow gone offline, but still had a slight bit of fun with it :]

t'was back to the wacca grind with a vengeance after that, given i still had a billion more requests from my friends to get through... i Do sorta feel like i'm slowly but surely getting better at the game, but some charts are still throwing me off a ton... really wonder how to get good at them . maybe some other day i'll figure it out... but seeing as i've already run out of images for this post, this concludes my WACCA journey for the night . simply too exhausting,,,, but there's still a few more images to go for the day, so stay tuned for the final part of the very awesome and cool Gamecenter All-Nighter!!!

December 20th, 2025 (1/?) - ONGEKI, DJMAX Technika 3, Nostalgia, EZ2AC, Chrono Circle, Tetote x Connect, maimai PRiSM, DDR X2

HAPPYYYYYYYY HOLIDAYSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! i know i'm writing this way far out into the future past the holiday season, but it's only now that i'm getting to writing about such a grand event that took place during such a chaotic season... said grand event being extremely chaotic in of itself! it is the annual, the great, the glorious...

...gamecenter Holiday Party!!! an action-packed overnight arcade event that runs from 8 PM today until 7 AM the next, and it'd be my first time attempting to pull an all-nighter to experience arcade gaming all night!! of course, i brought some snacks and made preparations before coming, like stocking up on energy drinks and making sure i slept beforehand (LIE) (I BARELY SLEPT EARLIER) (I'M SO DEAD), so that once the clock struck and the party began... i'd be Dancin' Allll Night!!! so as my sister was leaving somewhere else, i followed in her car, got to the arcade just a few minutes before start time, and slowly but surely... we were let into what would become the most night of our lives.

let's kick it off with some ONGEKI!!! been a while since i've played this because it's ALWAYS busy whenever i come to play, so it's surprising to see it open in an otherwise packed and busy arcade... yeahhhh, i horribly miscalculated just how many people would be here, and what was supposed to be Nonstop Hyper Ultra Gaming quickly turned into a night of wandering around the arcade figuring out what to play, what was open (besides beatmania), etc.... BUT!!! i got some compliments for my score on Party 4U relative to my rating which was nice!! ...though that's mostly just cuz i haven't bothered filling my New 15 or whatever...

like i said; every cab was busy and every one of the popular, common games seemed to have a line, so what you're about to see is the most random and confusing selection of scores from games that were the only ones open at the time... that's not to say they were bad scores though!!! in fact, some of the DJMAX TECHNIKA clears are really good!!! (some random games indeed though... bet you haven't seen CHRONO CIRCLE on this account in some time, huh? well, that's just because i haven't played it and the game went offline but... y'know...)

oh also they had Tetote x Connect on the card maker and it was unbelievably hilarious to play LMFAO, i should def try the real thing again though... again, too cramped to do any dances XwX

now for something a little more familiar: maimai!!! i had placed myself into the card queue due to the sheer volume of players here, and managed to pop in every so often when it was my turn, which led to some very random and funky scores including... an SS on ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX [MASTER Lv13], beating my good friend Ron on Sirius no Kagayaki no you ni [Re:MASTER Lv14] AND on Tsunagite [Re:MASTER Lv15] with an 85% somehow (lol) before wandering back off after my set ended...

...to play some DDR X2!!!!!!! ironically i've been avoiding this game for fear that it was Too intensive and that i'd pass out asleep early if i tried playing it, buuuut i already played maimai, so what's another dance game in the mix? feeling bored of singles and craving a bit more spice though (perhaps also due to the Monster Energy affecting my thinking, i decided to play every song here on DOUBLES!!! this led to a most chaotic and tiring session indeed, but one that resulted in a lot of very solid Double 17 clears like New Decade [EDP-17], roppongi EVOLVED ver.D [EDP-16, though rated a 15 here], POSSESSION [EDP-17], DeltaMAX [EDP-17], aaaaand Anti-Matter [EDP-17] too!!! though as you can tell from the calorie counts... this was Tiring as Hell!!!! needed to take a break and recharge with electrolytes after this whole session, and it was already 2 AM!!!! or only 2 AM? dunno how to word it...

once i recharged and played in a little Umamusume showdown though, it was back to the grind -- starting with maimai, where a lot of the queue people had left and it was all just goofs, which led to these two funny scores from the shared play feature and also a few of my own in a following set (though with less favorable results due to my tiredness)

aaaaand that's unfortunately where this post will end off as i've already run out of image space . but don't fret!!! there may still be a lot more rhythm game scores to get through, but trust me they are all Very good and awesome and cool and you will love them... whenever i get around to making it, that is (this post alone took a good while, though less than i expected, so maybe soon...? just not tomorrow or maybe even the day after LOL) . December 18th, 2025 - Crystallium, CHUNITHM PARADISE LOST, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE DELTA, DDR WORLD, SDVX EG, StepManiaX, IIDX 33, ProSeka

a new weekend has (almost) arrived, so you know what that means... ANOTHER SOLSTICE ARENA GRIND SESH!!! this time, it's the very last round of the team tournament, and i need to get grinding and submitting NOW!!! for a very special occasion awaits me later this weekend... not much else to talk about until i reach that point tho, so let's GET INTO IT!!! ...right after these extra few random scores on Crystallium's Open Beta after showing it off to some friends... eghhh still dunno how to feel about it, though i guess it's pretty neat

starting with chunithm because i had just talked with a friend about accuracy habits and learning to build it without fully deciating to uppers, and i wanted to back my statements up with at least a little bit of evidence so i wouldn't appear as a nonsense fraud talking about myself!! found an abandoned credit of chunithm to do just that, and... i ended up appearing as a nonsensical fraud . i swear i'm better than this i'm promise sorry sorry sorry i don't know what happened

continuing forth! iirc i saw a free credit after talking with a friend who was playing and didn't wanna hop on the DDR grind just yet, so here's a little set of DrumMania where i cleared both I'm so Happy (Rockin' ver.) [ADVANCED 6.25] and Sand Blow [ADVANCED 4.85]!! the latter being less impressive... i really need to play this game more :p

okay NOW it's ddr time!! and the preparation proved Extremely true... because after a sorta lackluster warmup set (with the only notable score being a 14 flag), i proceeded to kick off the next set with a GFC on DDR MEGAMIX [CSP-16] and... CHAOS [CSP-16]????? no idea how, why, or what, or asldkjflkdsajflksda i don't even know, but this was INSANE and suuuper promising for the rest of the session... so long as i kept up the momentum, that is. and then to end off the session, i also massively upscored my Healing-D-Vision [CSP-18] from 871k to... 963k????? how??????? i'll take it tho, hooooly

aaand since it's only one score, i'll upload my first attempt on the first of the trial songs... an unprecedented, already-insane 994k on Tokyo Shinwa [ESP-17] and a 94.37% EX% to boot!!! and since the average EX% requirement this time around was only 92%, my score was already super solid enough to submit!!! figuring i could get a better score later on though (since this was first try of the day) i put a pin in it to revisit later...)

SDVX friend was still playing SDVX so i decided to take a breather from DDR and join him for a teensy bit to get some upscores of my own... resulting in a 978 on Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny [EXH 18], my third(?) 18 S-rank on Innocent Azure [MXM 18] (with a 992 too!!), and to end it off... getting my 2nd ever 19 clear on the very funny Sasoribi [MXM-19]!!

stepmaniax break!! i've been DYING to play this game since my last visit and i finally had the chance... for it is UNBEATABLE MONTH and i haven't played this game since prior to its release (+ needing to warm back up for DDR), i started off with Worn Out Tapes [FULL+ 22] and got... a 57p PFC as my first 22 PFC??? i don't even remember if i have a 21 or 20 PFC... but nevertheless i'll take it LOL . also played the original Tidal Wave geometry dash song, Shiawase [FULL 23], as well as the great, big, glorious recent addition... London Bridge, on FULL+ 23, WILD 21, and FULL 14!!!

per oomf's (sorta) request and suggestions, here's a bit of IIDX after a bit of a lunch break so i don't instantly jump into dancing -- HCs on I Was The One [SPA-4, lol] and KAMIKAZE [SPA-10, damn] + EXHCs on Broken My Heart [SPA-9] and NEO GENERATOR SEVEN [SPH-9]!!! still kinda lost on what to do in this game...

once i felt good enough though, i headed back to the DDR cab to grind out the last few scores for the event. lo and behold, a friend from a rival team happened to have the same idea of grinding their scores on the same team... except we weren't really rivals because we were actually allied and relying on each other for the last team trial in a weird series of events!!! since we had similar target songs and weak points to work out, we decided to do some Friendship Training a la Umamusume to get some banger scores in for each of our teams... and for each other!!!

starting with the boss song we were both struggling with, ACE FOR ACES [ESP-15] with an insane first play upscore from 812k to 982k!!!! tbf i did study it while eating beforehand (and also hadn't played it since... 2021?), but still insane just how much one can improve in such time... and it didn't even stop there, because i then upscored it to a solid 995k!!! come to find out a few minutes later that my team actually needed one more person to do the CSP-18, so after a few goofy song picks (incl. a sightread AAA on CUE CUE RESCUE [CSP-17])... i tried it and got an INSANE first-try ever FC on it??? my second ever 18 FC and it's on ACE FOR ACES of all things??? what the fuck?????? in fairness, this has become a lot easier to do with the advent of CONSTANT in DDR WORLD, but it nonetheless is an incredible feat to pull off... especially for my team, since it put me on par with (if not better than) most others who had to play the chart!!! and so, after that and finally getting a PFC on Aka to ao no rampage [ESP-14, 24p], the session came to a very satisfying close and i submitted my scores to help bring the team average up and boost us to near-victory!!! (save for a few teammates that still needed to submit their own scores... and the team average still not being sufficient... but that don't concern me anymore!!)

aaand to truly end the post: random ass AP on Memoria [Expert Lv.31] that i got before going to sleep . whatevs, 'least that's another Expert 31 down

Wait!!! there's still a few more scores that are Sorta from the v/s saga, and those come in the form of a mini-DA25 afterparty as the results were announced and everyone was placed into bracket!! apparently it was even bigger earlier but i only caught the Big Sweats playing into the night (for them, early morning for me) and decided to join them to shake off the last few v/s urges i had before going into hiatus . ofc the pros won pretty much everything as is to be expected, but ehhh i still put up a decent fight if i don't say so myself . not that i'm even playing in the tourney... eghhh Whatever

addendum: i also tried the Crystallium Open Beta #2 for the first time today!!! i meannnn it's alright i guess... still need to get used to this control scheme, and i'm not feeling the best to comment on it for now... but hey! they have Electroman Adventures sooooo

December 16th, 2025 - vivid/stasis

IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!! today is the day of dooms... the point of no return... that's right the DA25 qualifiers are closing TODAY!!! it was now or never on getting a top 12 submission in, and i needed to lock tf in and give it my all (alongside my teammate Bomber) if we wanted to have one last funky tournament run to end off the year... no time to waste, let's warm up and get going

already out of the gate, SOLID ACs and scores across the board!!! upscored my AC on Images [FINALE 15, MAX-18 -> MAX-15], same with QUASAR [FINALE 15+, MAX-9 -> MAX-8] and Tau [ENCORE 15, MAX-6 -> MAX-2?!?!?], and then i went BACK to Images one last time to upscore it to a MAX-8 AC?!?!?! i was locked IN and ready to take on everything, it's rather impressive really...

and so, i call bomber back over to do some runs, for the qualifier submissions were set to close in just 1 hour!!! we def could've done them earlier, but no take backsies... we ran through it, and i held onto the ridiculous consistency i showed in my earlier PBs (though ofc with worse crit counts)...! buuut unfortunately, bomber was still kinda lagging behind, and i choked hard on the only song i neglected to practice or upscore beforehand... Synthesis. despite all my successful scores from the first three songs, this completely killed the run's momentum and gave us a score even Worse than our submission yesterday.

this wouldn't do at all, but we were running out of time . we tried doing more runs, but the pressure was getting to both of us, all to the point where i swapped places with bomber and started choking Tau for no reason!!! it was awful, we kept retrying at the first song due to said chokes, i wanted to give up and cry myself to sleep, and at 8:45 PM local time (15 minutes until closure), we realized this would be the last and only opportunity we had to finalize a run in time for submissions . and so we balled miserably (though bomber picked up the pace quite a bit) until we finally finished at 8:58 PM with a solid... 3255.2 qualifier score. it wasn't enough, not even close to enough. but it was all we could do given the time constraints and lack of preparation, plus it was still a raise of 7.2 points... so we submitted and called it a day.

iii don't really know what else to say about the tournament, other than it's probably more of a relief that we didn't qualify because imagine the Stress that'd come with practicing and keeping up with our matches. combined with qualifiers taking place over finals season + the flash flood alerts terrorizing my family, it was just the wrong time for the event in general, and y'know what? that's fine!! it can't go our way all the time, alas, and i'm fine with missing out on this tournament edition if it means getting some time to pick myself back up and recover from all the chaos . regardless of the result, this was still a super fun saga thanks to bomber and the rest of RLG, and even though i'll have to watch from the sidelines... i'm looking forward to cheering on the rest of the friends i made along the way, notably the DA18 crew that qualified for this edition!!!

i guess that's the end of this story for now... it does kinda suck that this might be the last vivid/stasis tourney ever, given they plan to finally wrap up the game for good early next year, but i don't feel all too bad about it . i did what i could, i gave it my all*, but it is what it is... here's to a good tourney for the rest of the competitors, and more miscellaneous, stress-free rhythm game scores from me to come!!!

December 15th, 2025 - Arcaea, vivid/stasis

did absolutely NOTHING yesterday in terms of rhythm gaming, because i actually went out with my family to see some christmas lights and shop some outlets!!! hooray!!! ...at the cost of missing out on a big funky maimai meetup with friends :(( ehhh it's whatever, nice to get away and take a break sometimes, but we're back now! here's me upscoring SATISFACTION (FTR-8, MAX-8 -> MAX-5) from earlier ig

i haven't shared this on the account with y'all, but i recently got some news and word about a flash flood threat in my area . rain has been heavy and rivers have been rising more than ever before, and the worst news broke when a levee in a neighboring city broke, causing an alert to evacuate everyone in the area immediately . my parents were stressed as hell by this and started telling me to check up on the situation and pack up stuff as we would likely need to evacuate ourselves should the waters persist . this took a toll on me for pretty much the entire week, stressing me out again like my school finals did the week before, and i was struggling to focus or behave knowing that a flood could break through here at any point and potentially destroy my setup . Also doesn't help that i had to spend pretty much all day writing for the Full Combo account, so i was super torn and super stressed and Agh this week just sucked, i didn't know what to dooooo . Fuck!!! here's me playing v/s with bonbon again (i won!!)

aaand here's me grinding the qualifiers on my own again!! bomber was busy and i had only just finished writing my cards for Full Combo, but it seems like my family was stalling on the whole evacuation plan... i was sure they'd be out of there, and was worried they could leave at any point, so i got in as much practice as i could anyways given the qualifiers were closing tomorrow . double upscored QUASAR [FINALE 15+, MAX-13 -> MAX-11 -> MAX-9, unc still got it!!], tried desperately to refresh myself on Synthesis. [ENCORE 16] (got two really damn good FCs actually!!!), and finally learned Images [FINALE 15] by getting a solid MAX-18 AC!!!!

alright, i was ready . i called up bomber and we joined for some runs again, leading to another set where... i kinda choked tbh . didn't match the insane PBs i was getting solo, which is Understandable... Synthesis. REALLY tired me out, and bomber was Somewhat pulling through with higher scores than usual, but still consistently placing lower... nevertheless we raised our Qualifier score, but only by a measly 4.7 points, which still wasn't nearly enough for a Top 12 placement into the final bracket . ah well, maybe we'll have more luck if we come back tomorrow...

December 13th, 2025 - ProSeka, vivid/stasis, Just Dance

EVERYBODY FREAK THE FUCK OUT!!!!! but only after these brief random proseka scores, where i sightread AP Treasure Garden [Expert Lv.28] and make some... surprising progress on AP'ing Kaiju ni Naritai [Expert Lv.32]!!! maybe full game Easy~Expert AP isn't so impossible after all... just 2 greats left to go...

okay NOW everyone PANIC AND FREAK THE FUCK OUT!!! those of you who've either followed my past posts or actively play vivid/stasis know the DUOSTORM ASCENCIA 2025 qualifiers have been out for a while now... but they just so happen to be ending in THREE DAYS (as of this post)!!! AND I'VE GOTTEN 0 PRACTICE WITH THE SONGS!!! in fairness, i recall the last two qualifiers from my past tourney experience with vivid/stasis, but i'm completely lost on both Tau and Images, and i haven't had any time to study them because i've been cramming for finals the entire duration of the tournament!!! worse, i hadn't even alerted or signaled my teammate Bomber to start practicing himself, so we were Both absolutely cooked... yet i still had hope . i clutched out my submission in DA24, my team pulled through to 5th in SS24 despite being super inconsistent, so what's to say we couldn't pull it off a third time?

and so, the epic 2DKaps DA25 training arc began... and WOW we sucked . yeahhhh way worse than we both anticipated . bomber wanted to do a practice run straight from the get-go to gauge our skills so far, and he failed out on Synthesis. [ENCORE 16] due to having harmony gauge on... but even still i was getting way off my PB!!! so our first run was a horrible 1756.8, not even within the top... 30? 40? of the tourney at the time . nevertheless we persisted... i got an AC on Tau [ENCORE 15, MAX-9], started learning Images [FINALE 15], and we joined back up to a... somewhat mediocre run . reset the first run because we both did bad, but i pulled through on the next with an upscore to MAX-6 on Tau... a slight new PB on Images... a 2-miss on QUASAR... and eating even MORE shit on Synthesis. to get a new qualifier score of...

...pretty good, eh?? of course, not the best, but it was a good start for how washed we were and how many days we had left to go (clueless)! spent the rest of the day trying to find my skill again and doing random stuff, like finally AC'ing 3, 2, 1, Let's Go [FINALE 15, MAX-11] (chart got nerfed though so it's not as special :[), getting an S+ on APOCALYPSE CALL [ENCORE 18] and a V on DeSPAROLA [BACKSTAGE 17], sightread AC'ing Wave Punch [FINALE 14, MAX-22], aaaand i guess FC'ing Luminaria [ENCORE 13] with 25% timing windows if that counts for anything???

even with all that, as night came and the day ended, i still felt super stressed and alert by the DA25 qualifiers and if we could even qualify into the tourney at this rate... iiit wasn't looking good ngl, and i felt like we would legit miss out on it no matter what, i just couldn't shake the feeling... so i played some Just Dance at midnight to shake off the nerves!! mayhaps not the best solution (and i was slightly reprimanded by my parents once they got back), but whatever works i guess...? (also got FP (Full Perfect) on Acceptable In The 80s so TAKE THAT!!!)

December 12th, 2025 - Arcaea, maimai DX PRiSM PLUS, IIDX 33, DDR WORLD, Taiko no Tatsujin

"another arcade day??" yesyes, but this is for a mildly understandable reason!! yesterday finally marked the day that i finished the last of my finals and was officially FREE from university for the year!!! ...well, with one minor asterisk -- that being today was the last day to pick up the lock i still had on my rented locker back there, before it would be REPOSSESSED and kept locked away FOREVER!!!! i couldn't let that happen... i bought that lock with my own money!!! and it just looked cool damnit!!!

determined to keep it but also feeling lazy now that my classes were over, i opted to grab the 11 AM train to campus to commence what would become a special sesh that would last the whole day... buuuut getting to the arcade is gonna take a while, so here's some arcaea i played on the train in the meantime... somehow i did this??? qualia -ideaesthesia- (BYD-9+, MAX-18 -> MAX-5)??? literally How

some time later i got through everything, which i'll skip because it's kinda boring... but i eventually did get to the arcade and all, though not before seeing a friend play arcaea and . i guess wanting to join instead of actually going into the arcade and playing??? idk either, though i think i was finishing a drink that i didn't want to bring into the arcade... as one might expect though, it kinda sucked #tbh and i only got one score out of it, though it was quite a funny occasion :]

but after all was said and done, i stepped into the arcade and ran straight to the arcade to play me some mai!! mai!! deluxe!!!!!! (prism plus) . didn't really know anyone around when i got there, but i met some other solo players and we just gamed miscellaneous for the time being... turns out this solo player had some rather good picks, because i got a real good amount of rating out of this session, sightread FC'ing Expert 12s like Mare Maris and Drivessover, then i took to 12+s with SSS ranks on MYTH Re : LEASE, Atlas Rush, and conflict, mixing in a sightread SS on Mikazuki Step 2023 [Master Lv.13] and a big one on AMAZING MIGHTYYYY!!!! [Expert Lv.13+]!!!

rating-wise this was an incredible session, i jumped from 13341 to 13503 near-instantly!!! but alas, i already got my maimai fix earlier this week, and there was something else i needed to grind... so before i actually get to that, here's some iidx!!! why? no reason other than training my timing ability, but it was fun and cool an awesome... that Tsuki to milk [SPA-11] AA was pretty damn cool, plus i'm inching closer to the MAX- on OOO [SPA-10] (though i mostly only played it to unlock OOO LEGGENDARIA!!!! yippee!!!!)

alright NOW it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for... the game i Actually came here to play was none other than... DDR!!! if you saw my last post, you probably saw how the session was basically cut short by the ride my friend gave me back home + my exhaustion from the previous maimai and sdvx sets... but today was the day i'd redeem myself and get on that DDR grind for the rest of the night... for me... for my Solstice Around The World team... for my fans (that's you reading this, thank you!!)...!

...and already we're starting off strong with a 2nd-stage PFC on Urban Life (ESP-15, 36p) as 15 PFC #45!!! that's a toughie too wtf, jumped and fist pumped as soon as i got it... and yet the session continues!!! beat a DDR semi-rival by 1p on O JIYA [ESP-13] (funny), finally Flare EX'd Programmed Universe [CSP-16]...

...and then began the SATW (solstice around the world) grind . didn't want to repeat the mistake from yester-yesterday's session of playing too much before grinding the songs, so i got to them in only 2 sets this time (yippee!!!), and... worked out pretty swell!! big ups compared to last sesh, but i still felt i could do better... grinding wouldn't help much though (and i didn't wanna bore ddr friends with the same pick over and over), so i played other charts and got other neat scores like this 3g Flare EX on Snow Garland Fairy [ESP-17], a MASSIVE +115k upscore on DeltaMAX [CSP-17] (wtf), and a slight PFC upscore on O JIYA (ESP-13, 25p -> 19p)

all those scores led up to an attempt on the other SATW song i had to play... Wadatsumi!!! wasn't expecting much on this one, just dove right in to test the waters, but i came out of it on my first try with a SOLID 993k score out of nowhere... as 18 AAA #2!!! ...admittedly, i was hoping for under 100 perfects, something like perhaps a Flare EX clear... but even so, this was Solid AF and would be acceptable by the SATW team's standards... though the thought of being able to do better lingered in my head regardless. thus, i left to get a small meal to clear my head and replenish my energy.

came back from the meal and gave it another shot, but again, the same problem . was in the zone, went for a long lunch to get back into the zone, ended up falling out of the zone and feeling super heavy compared to my initial play . i should def know the pattern by now, but i was so sure it was just the final push i needed this time... wellll it worked in a few ways though, because my first (and only) set back allowed me to close out STEP MACHINE (ESP-14, 40p) as 14 PFC #45, and (as anticipated) Sector (ESP-16, 37p) as 16 PFC #9!!! (nice) (3 EX worse than the 998,980 score though, so.... not nice) (also gave wadatsumi another try for extra stage but ate shit)

that about sums it up for scores today... in retrospect, not a bad sesh at all!! records i set were pretty good for my team, and the pressure/averages i needed to singlehandedly bring them up were straight up impossible, plus we still had a few days left so i just needed to wait and see if anyone else would pull through... (kaps from the future here, they did thankfully) . thus, i leave this session off with this funky little IN THE ZONE score i got on taiko in between DDR sets to commemorate the announcement of ACE COMBAT 8 yesterday... god bless

December 10th, 2025 - Phigros, Arcaea, Muse Dash, maimai DX PRiSM PLUS, IIDX 33, SDVX EG, DDR WORLD

idrk how to start this post tbh LOL, i'm kinda in a state of limbo where i """have""" everything done but still have a few more assignments that i just can't bring myself to do . so instead of getting it over with and finishing the assignments, i decided today would be a perfect day to... visit the arcade!!! but before that, a challenge in The Usual Server requested me to play On And On!! in multiple rhythm games (all playable at home), so i got them out of the way starting with Phigros (where i got a phi on both Spasmodic [HD Lv.13, FINALLYYYY] and On And On!! [IN Lv.15, I did it when it was a 14!!!])... then Arcaea with a solid MAX-29 -> MAX-15 PM upscore on the FTR-9... then Muse Dash where i managed to squeeze out an FC on both the 7* and 9*!!! ...only to find out there was a hidden 11* that's like Insanely hard wtf how do you hit that what are the Levels to this game

eh whatever, i'll think about that later . today is an ARCADE DAY first and foremost, and i'm not gonna feel satisfied until i get my fill!!! concidentally, a few of my friends were also there to get their game on, and we united our SDVX twinsies plushies for group photos!!! (except mr. Grace Owner here wants his plush to decompress so it's stuck in the bag suffocating until further notice)

starting off the sesh right with MAIMAI!!! just a bunch of silly antics, playing through and sightreading certain charts like Help me, ERINNNNNN!! [MASTER Lv.13] and Ref:rain (for 7th Heaven) [EXPERT Lv.12] with no prior warmup straight into Southern Cross [Re:MASTER Lv.13+]??? absolutely no idea why i did that or why i thought it'd be a remotely good idea, but stamina-wise i was Spent by this point and only managed to get two more scores... though one of them was on the one and only, the extremely funny... Xaleid◆scopiX [EXPERT Lv.13+]!!! #WorthIt

my arms' stamina was still extremely spent so (against better judgement) i hopped onto IIDX and played a bunch of random charts (IGNORE THAT MERMAID GIRL IMAGE)... nothing to note about them #tbh

y'know what there IS to note about though??? SDVX!!! played substantially more of it with the maimai friends and got some Sweet Ass Clears if i don't say so myself!!! ...well maybe not Too sweet tbh, but since my friends were around and we had not much better to do, we started playing versus matches together and setting ridiculously funny, ridiculously intense matches!!! i got a decent few bits of VF out of it too~

and while we're at it, why not complete the BEMANI Trifecta with a little bit of DDR? i intended to play this a bit more to practice for the second round of Solstice Around The World, but i didn't realize that maimai and SDVX would leave me so spent and tired LOL... giving Sector my first few shots ended in exhaustion and semi-poor MA, but i did manage to get a Flare EX FC on the chart once i learned its gimmicks!!! didn't get much else after that though, and i actually made arrangements just before to get a ride back home with one of my maimai friends . but outside of Sector, i also managed to bag CUE CUE RESCUE [ESP-15, 27p] and Ai-shi AI sare [ESP-15, 35p] as 15 PFCs #43 and #44 respectively!!! ...already caught back up to the 14s, huh?
