Connar blushed and smiled softly as she looked over some old photos on her cell phone. They were ones of her and the Doctor. Well, her and the fifth version of him. She was sitting in one of the spare rooms of the second iteration of the Doctor’s TARDIS while she was scrolling through some memories she had, her eyes feeling a bit wetter than usual.

Since her and the second Doctor’s initial meeting, Connar got the opportunity to learn a lot about her partner, especially about a previous version of him. It was a bit strange, meeting a version of your boyfriend who had no idea who you are, but the two of them learned fast. Except... the version of the Doctor she was currently staying with did not know how he would regard her in the future. When number two and number five met, Connar was not in the picture yet, so naturally, number two thought she was just another companion like all of the previous ones.

She just happened to be admiring a picture of the two of them kissing with snow falling around them, their cheeks and noses a shade of pink. Ah, that was the trip to the French Alps where they stayed in a cabin. She hadn’t been to a place with a lot of snow, so he took her there as a surprise.

Connar was distracted until she could almost feel him behind her now, looking over her shoulder.

“Umm, Doctor, I have something I think you should know...”

Even though what she could say may impact the space-time continuum, she had the feeling that he should at least know. It almost felt like lying if she didn’t say it.

“Don’t even think about it.”

Another trip back to 2019 Earth had come to an end. With the holidays getting close back in her homeworld, the Doctor insisted Connar visit her loved ones at least once before they headed off to their next string of adventures as well as a holiday vacation of their own. She appreciated how in touch with his feelings he was, and how he reminded her that although she was not a typical resident of Earth anymore that she had to keep up with her relationships there. With that in mind, this time around, she could not bring him around the family, although him coming around next year was almost demanded by her family.

In the time since she had left with the Doctor, she had concocted a fake story that she had an offer for a fantastic job in London, and that is why she is no longer living in the U.S. It also helped to explain the slight accent she seemed to have acquired from spending so much time with the Doctor as well as his fondness for British customs like tea and biscuits. Of course, when the question a possible partner came up in conversation, her face immediately showed there was someone she was interested in. After telling them he was a historian who is kind, caring, brave, intelligent, it was apparent that the family had to meet this charming young man. Connar told them maybe she would bring him home with her next year. As she walked through the open field, the crisp late fall air lightly bit at her nose and cheeks, making them a light shade of pink.

Connar paused at the door of the TARDIS, getting ready to step in before being gently stopped by the stranger. This wasn’t the first time she had been blocked from entering the ship before, but this stranger seemed adamant about blocking her way. Nevertheless, she gave him a polite smile. No one knew the truth of this particular police box anyways, so she could understand the possible confusion most average people had when she tried to enter it.

“I’m sorry. I have to get in, you see.”

Typically, to prevent any confusion, the less explanation, the better. Humans especially did not respond well to hearing that this was, in essence, a spaceship.
