What is in the bottom of (some of ) your bongs? !! Like the little pink and white things, made it look like mini clouds in one shot. V cute . V curious

they’re called 2k diffuser beads! idk if they exist anymore (those photos are like 6-8 years old), but their purpose is to break up (diffuse) the smoke & water bubbles to create a smoother hit. theyre basically doing the same thing as a percolator, but they’re meant for bongs that don’t already have a perc built in

are diffuser beads worth it?

for straight tubes, i’d say they’re hella worth it as long as you don’t mind the small hassle of changing the water with the beads. (i use a strainer for this lol and then a funnel to put the beads back in my bong) for any other style bong honestly i’d say naw cos like beakers and bubble bottoms require at least a whole jar of beads and they’re not like super cheap. (with straight tubes just one lil bag will do the trick!) and if your bong has a perc already, diffuser beads are completely unnecessary.

they make great gifts tho tbh cos they’re one of those things you don’t really need but they’re cool to have (my first ones were actually a gift which is how i found out about them!)

thought I should make this post since a question I get daily is “what are those orbs in your bong water?”

they’re called 2k Diffuser Beads and theyre for added percolation. they break up the smoke bubbles to give you a smoother hit. they’re made of thick durable plastic that is safe to smoke with and they can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and rock salt just like your pieces. they work best in bongs that have no built in percs!

you can order them off Amazon or grasscity and they have a website too but I dunno if they sell them there.

for straight tubes I recommend purchasing a bag, for beaker bongs I recommend purchasing a whole jar, for large bubble bottom bongs I recommend buying more than one jar. 


in order to change the water, I pour my bong over a strainer so the beads don’t fall down the drain. I suggest designating a specific strainer for your beads tho cos it will get covered in resin with repeated use. also if you want to, you can use a funnel to easily pour the beads into your bong. this is what I do to prevent beads from flying everywhere haha cos I can be a little clumsy while stoned haha
