Christopher relationship with his Parents

Christopher relationship with his mother:

throughout the book we discover more about Christopher's mother. Christopher mentions that his mother used hit him when he was younger. we also know that his mother had an affair with Mr. Shears. and his mother also died from a heart attack. Christopher doesn't really describe how does he feel about his mother, but when he found out about his mother's affair with Mr. Shears he might felt sad but he didn't recognize it as a feeling due to his Syndrome.

Christopher relationship with his father:

Christopher and his father are not close but they're not apart either. their relationship together is fine, but we discover in the book that his father might have a temper and later in the book Christopher's father hit him but he did  apologize and make up for him because he felt bad.

Christopher’s Mother Relationship with his father

All we know about Christopher’s mother is that she passed from a heart attack, and Christopher’s father didn’t allow him to visit her. Since Christopher has Asperger’s  Syndrome, he doesn’t feel anything when he knew his mother died and also he says there is no need to talk about her since she is dead, which also shows that he didn’t have any sort of emotions about his mother.

His relationship with his father is not a bad one. Though his father developed a temper after his wife died he still showed in many situations thats he cares about Christopher. Like when he just touched Christopher’s hand instead of hugging him because he knows that Christopher doesn’t like to be hugged, and also when he apologised to Christopher after they fought. He also worries about him when he goes out because he might have been doing “detective” work.

Asperger's  Syndrome

1) Asperger's individuals can be remarkably intelligent.

throughout the book we all notice how smart Christopher is, for example when his dad's friends ask him a mathematical question he answered immediately. he's also one of the only students in his school to take grade A level math's.

2) people with Asperger's Syndrome have trouble understanding what someone else is thinking or feeling.

this also refers to Christopher for example; when the police officer asked Christopher to many questions Christopher placed his head on the grass and kept groaning. also in the book Christopher says, if someone start to chat with him and he didn't understand what are they saying he would just walk away.

3) they focus on small details rather than the bigger picture.

when Christopher went to his neighbors to investigate them about the murder of Mrs. Shears dog, one of the people he went to wore bracelets and instead of describing how does she look he described the bracelet.

4) children with Asperger's Syndrome prefer routine and structure and can become distressed if the unexpected happens.

Christopher like to stick to a special routine that he made. for example, if Christopher saw yellow cars it will be a bad day and if he saw read cars it will be a good day. another example, Christopher hates it when food mix together, so he always have different kind of food in separated on his plate.

Written Communication

Written communication is something really common now-a-days. Its what people do when they have nothing else to do. They would just on any type of social media and start a chat. Though the difference between it and the normal face-to-face communication is just different. Written communication has 100 times less emotion than the face-to-face communication. Social media made me think that written communication can be helpful when its hard to say something face-to-face. It can always come in handy at those times. 

I personally prefer the normal face-to-face communication. It grows the relation between the people more than what others do those days like talking on Whats App or BBM. I also feel less annoyed talking than typing. Because typing errors annoy me. But you know what pisses me off more? When the Auto Correct is just correcting every word you misspelled on purpose. Or when it dosent have your right word in its dictionary. Anyways, Social media also changed the way I talk to my friends, because I started using internet slang while I’m talking, Or saying Arabic-English words. The more I use written communication I start saying what i wanna write. But, Social media has made written communication easier. yay. :D

Christopher and his mother:

Christopher has told us that his mother was put in hospital because she was sick and then she died from a heart attack. And although we don’t know much about his mother we do know that she was a loving mom to her son, but she couldn’t really cope with Christopher’s disorder. Christopher says that his mother was hot-headed which means she has a short temper, and although she was impatient about his disorder Christopher loved her because no matter what she was his mother. We can tell that Christopher loves her because when his mother was in the hospital Christopher got her a card, and that’s something he wouldn’t really do because he doesn’t show emotions.

Christopher and his father:

As for Christopher and his father we can tell from what we’ve read that they have a good relationship. And a small example is when his father picked him up from the police station and they did their “hand hug” instead of embracing since Christopher doesn’t like being touched. At the same time when they were in the car and Christopher said he was determined to find out who killed Wellington, his father started scolding him and telling him not to get into other peoples’ business. He also slammed his fists on the steering wheel. Which shows us that although they had a really good bond, his father had some difficulty approaching Christopher in some situations. Besides that overall they have a good bond and his father is really supportive disregarding Christopher's disorder. For example when the school said Christopher is not allowed to take A-level maths his father fought with them so that his son could take the A-level maths, to show him that he loves him and cares for him.

Aspergers Syndrome & Christopher

Normal to high intelligence:

Christopher is very smart and we can tell that throughout the book as he explains mathematical problems, plus he’s taking A-level maths.

Focus on small details:

When Christopher was describing the police man he mentioned the leaf picking out of the bottom of his shoes, rather than his looks.

Trouble understanding what someone else is thinking and feeling:

Christopher has trouble understanding what someone’s reaction to something means or how to respond back. For example, when his father picked him up from the police station he was shouting at him in the car and it took Christopher some thinking to realize that his father was mad. He said that his voice is getting louder and he banged his fists on the steering so he’s mad and he shouldn’t say anything to make him get madder.

Tend to follow a specific routine and feel anxious if that routine is disturbed.

Christopher sticks to a few things that he likes and never wants to deal with the things he’s not comfortable doing or the things he hates. For example, how Christopher hates the colors yellow and brown. He hates those colors so much that he doesn’t want tot get in contact with anything colored yellow or brown. He even adds red food coloring to his food so it’s not yellow anymore.

This picture is shown as overcoming adversity. It is shown as overcoming adversity, because the man did not give up running just because he lost a foot. He kept on trying his best and was finally able to overcome that hard obstacle that he has always been going through. No matter what the worst circumstances are he still only lost a foot not a heart.
