Vocab Homework

Definition: to annoy or worry, irritate. 

Sentence: I was vexing Rand all day on BBM by sending her lame jokes that she could not stand. 

Bombastic (adjective):

Definition: high sounding, but with little meaning. Pompous, blathering. 

Sentence: My bombastic effort that was made on writing funny sentences got Miss Chloe laughing out loud.

Social Media

Social media is definitely obvious by now on how it can be used as an educational way. Interacting with other people and sharing ideas and opinions is definitely benefiting us as students. Though, somehow, people still view Social Media as a negative environment. I do some what agree because Cyber Bullying is very common, and serious accidents are happening due to that. But we should always look at the bright side of things. Ans as @ainourrz68 mentioned, every thing has its negatives and positives. Social media does contain negative contents, but also there are people out there learning and studying through social media.

Pick and scene from the novel then add music to it. Write a paragraph about how that song would work well with this particular scene from the book.

I choose the song “There you’ll be,” by Faith hill, and scenes of Christopher after he heard about the death of his mother. I think this song best describes the atmosphere he lived in, because after him hearing this news, he wasn’t really sad about it, and the line “Everywhere I am, there you’ll be,” Is like him feeling okay about what happened because anywhere he will ever be, his mother would always be with him. And that it is okay for something like this to happen because it is something normal to happen in this world. This song also shows determination, which is one of Christopher’s characteristics.

Do you like Christopher? What about his father? And his mother? Are they good people? Do you sympathize them when they behave unskilfully, or blame them for their faults? Write two paragraphs.

Christopher’s father is a caring man. Especially when it came to his son Christopher. I like him because he never had the thought of leaving his son behind. He stayed there with him and took care of him even when his sickness and Syndrome came in the way, which caused so much trouble and difficulties for Father to take care of him. Him knowing that he has a high temper, and him having trouble controlling that stood in the way too, but even due to the circumstances, Father always made sure he apologized and did something to prove his apology. Like, when Christopher kept going around the neighbor asking about Wellington’s murderer, and Father found out about it, he did hit him, but in the end, he apologized and took him on a trip to the zoo. And when Christopher ran away, Father didn’t just sit there and did nothing, but went after him, and looked for him. This kind of sums up some of the characteristics found in Father which I like. And which also makes him a good guy in my point of view. I don’t blame Father for his actions because having a high temper isn’t something we choose, but something we are born with. And even when that stood in the way, he still proved himself good.  

Christopher’s Mother is a careless mother in my point of view. If she really cared for Christopher she would have stayed even though his disability came in the way. If she really cared for Christopher, she would have understood, and accepted the fact that this is who he is, and that she can’t change that, and in that case, it leads her to stay and stand by him no matter what. But, she chose to let go of him, and Father, and move to London. Unlike Father, whenever she would yell at Christopher, she doesn't apologize for what she has done. These are the reasons to why I dislike Christopher’s Mother, and to why that makes her a bad person. I also do blame her for what she has done, because this was her decision and this is something she can control. And her decisions and choices made her a bad person. 

I like Christopher, because he is different from all of the Characters in the book. He is full of determination and commitment. When he found the box full of letters that were for him, Christopher didn’t just sit there and did nothing, but went searching for clues and reasons to why he didn’t get these letters. He is also a brave and courageous boy. He had the courage to leave his previous house, and to where he would define as “Home.” Even when the police were after him, he wasn’t scared, he continued determined and committed to London, to his mom. He is also very unique and special. Christopher is a good person because he shows us that even with him suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome, he tries his best to understand the people around him, and to co-operate with people. It isn’t his fault he is acting this way.

Violence can be a reasonable response to an unreasonable situation

I disagree with this statement. Violence should never be the answer. When someone is aggressive and violent towards you, the proper response is nonviolence. This is the only way to make sure you have the legal and upper hand.

We could all live more in peace if there wasn’t wars and violence all around the world to worry about. We need to talk, to compromise to make things better. it’s true that sometimes you want to hurt someone because they angered you. But, you can always punish them without the need of hurting them. Violence is not the answer, but it is an option that you don’t necessarily have to choose.

when Christopher father was angry with his son he grabbed him very hard which scared Christopher and due to that Christopher hit his father, I think this would never happen if Christopher’s father talked to him and didn’t grab him the way he did. I do realize that I just wrote a whole paragraph about violence is never the answer, but in Christopher’s case it was different he was scared and lost he had no idea what was going on, so he reacted by hitting his father.

in conclusion, I’d say that instead of using violence against anyone or anything you should try talking to them, understand things from their perspective or from their point of view. that would help you more than using violence.

I agree with everything you said, because in reality it is true that violence is never the answer. People these days would just be violent with everyone around them, and what they haven't noticed is that them being violent doesn't solve the problem, but makes it worst for both people. Talking and understatement between people always works. Because this way, both people would have a stronger relationship, and trust among each other. Though Father’s reaction was because of him having anger and temper issues, which i don’t really blame him for that. I have experience with people like Father, and it shows all the time that they never meant to act the way they did. But, in the end, what happened could have been in a better state if Father had just spoken to Christopher, instead of his violent actions that scared him.

Isolation:

This theme sums up Christopher’s position. Christopher always tries to isolate himself from the outside world. He’s always in his own world where he understands himself. And that is all due to him having “Asperger’s Syndrome.” Christopher finds it difficult to interact with the people around him. He doesn't understand how is he supposed to react to certain things. This puts him in a hard situation, giving him a good reason to be “Isolated.” We can tell from the story “The Curious Incident Of the Dog In The Night Time.” That Christopher likes himself being Isolated, since he says in one of the parts, 

“It was nice in the jail cell.” 

In the call, he was obviously alone. Surrounded by walls, and not packed with people, like where he spends everyday of his life. Christopher also shows that he prefers to spend time alone, than with people, since he doesn’t do what everyone does. 

I think that Christopher prefers communicating with animals more than people, because they are whom he understands, He knows that a certain action coming from the animal means a certain thing. He finds animals easier to understand than he sees in people.

Portraying people with disabilities in entertainment media is unfair

This is 100 percent true. Making fun of people’s disability shouldn’t be considered as an “entertainment,” that's one. Two, people with those disabilities are already insecure about what they have to go through, and people are adding humiliation. This is just making them feel worst. In any sort of entertainment, if it will hurt the person’s feelings in the end, then this is where the unfairness comes. Those people never chose to be like this, It is how they were born. Doing such thing like using people with disabilities as a side of entertainment is called being lifeless, and childish. A child will even understand better. Doing that, is also meaning you being rude to that person. 

Though, portraying people as in inspiring others, and showing them that its okay to be disabled, then you are being useful and spreading positivity. Instead of just wasting time by being rude, you can show people that being disabled dosent mean anything. You can always achieve your goals, dosent matter in which situation you stand.
