3 DECEMBER 2024 || STATE VISIT FROM QATAR - DAY 1 (1/3) : CEREMONIAL WELCOME

The Prince and Princess of Wales officially welcomed the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher on behalf of the King at their residence in London on the first day of their State Visit to the UK.

William and Catherine then escorted the guests for the Ceremonial Welcome where The King formally welcomed the couple at the Royal Pavilionon Horse Guards Parade.

During the ceremony presentations were made and the Guard of Honour gave a Royal Salute and the Qatari National Anthem was played. The Emir, accompanied by The King, then inspected the Guard of Honour formed of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

Finally, Their Highnesses joined The King and The Prince and Princess of Wales, in a carriage procession along The Mall to Buckingham Palace.
