Criminals attacked the Basecamp network with a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) attack this morning. The attackers tried to extort us for money to make it stop. We refused to give in and worked with our network providers to mitigate the attack the best we could. Then, about two hours after the attack started, it suddenly stopped.

37signals: a month to yourself.

37signals is giving a free month to its employees. One month for personal projects, ideas, prototype.  

This choice amazed me, when a group of passionate people works in the same room they can collaborate and share their knowledge and abilities to create something good, but the results could be surprising if they could develope something in which they believe and maybe something they have dreamed but they hadn't time to implement. 

Because when the mission comes from inside and the passion overlap the job something magic can happen.

Прочитав интервью основателей 37signal и Tumblr прихожу к выводу, что работать надо одному, что бы никто и не что не отвлекало.

И то, что возможность подойти к человеку и что-то узнать у него, некоторые рассматривают как преимущество, на самом деле полный отстой.

Это ведет к отвлечению от работы сразу нескольких сотрудников.

А вот короткие собрания в начале рабочего дня или недели очень даже полезны для командной работы и командного духа, если вы конечно хотите, что бы он был.
