I’m getting used to wearing my natural hair out but it’s so exhausting 🥲
Being a natural hair girl gives me confidence! Growing up, I didn’t always feel that way. The first time I wore my natural hair in high school, a girl gave me a look and asked, “Aren’t you going to straighten your hair?” Spoiler: I wasn’t. What God has given you naturally should be celebrated, not shamed ✨ I’m excited to share a NEW VIDEO on my YouTube channel all about my natural hair journey! I answer questions in the “It’s My Hair Tag” and give a little look into my journey so far. What other hair content would you like to see on the blog? Let me know!

4/21/2013: Hair
I haven't been talking about my hair because there is not much to talk about. I've had twists in all semester. It was not intended but this semester has been my busiest and I still don't have the time to deal with my loose hair. Right now, loose styles are impractical, with me working out almost everyday, and working, and with finals coming up.
I have been washing about once a month using the regimen at the top of the page. I have re-twisted my hair about 2 times since I put in the twists at the beginning of the year. I wouldn't recommend going that long without re-twisting. I have experienced severe tangling and breakage because I left them in too long.
I have experienced growth though. In the front, my hair almost touches the "nip". Nice, but I'm really not trying to gain length. What I have is already too much. My goal is to maintain without loosing too much hair.
As for my next style, I'm thinking about wearing my hair "out" for a bit, then putting in havanna twists again, but this time making the parts bigger. Last time, I had too much hair in and it was heavy, which would make working out interesting.
I still have the finger comber hair stored away in my closet, so I plan to cleanse and re-use that hair.
I have been dealing with a lot of dryness. It's been caused by working out, wearing hoods and scarves, my satin scarf slipping off during the night, my failing to put it back on, and negligence with moisturizing. All entirely my fault and that's cool.
I'm working on a lot of things right now and my hair is not a priority at all. I'll just be glad when I get a break to change up styles.

Wearing my natural Hair out on my campus
was a bit nerve racking for me today. I have big curly hair that grows up down and to the sides. i'm a 3C 4A i think. I'm really shy, and although i dress really outlandish compared to the basic girls in my school. I really like to be lowkey. I don't like to draw attention to myself that much, unless it's an realllyy good way. i got a few looks, compliments, an insult from a friend, and it's just because i didn't straighten my hair or put a weave in it, to look more "relaxed". i think people are so ignorant at times.
I'm brainwashed
i hate that i don't feel beautiful in my natural hair, and i only feel pretty when my hair is naturally straight. It's just that all i see on my tv is black girls with beautiful flowing weaves, and on my campus it's the same most of the black girls have weaves or perms. I've been natural all my life, but my curl pattern is slacking, because of the heat damage. i think i'm gonna try to stick to wearing my curls.
my hair is back to normal! I think I want to reinstall yarn braids soon, except this time I will actually get the right color yarn-brown.
