NATURAL HAIR PRACTICES: THE INVERSIONMETHOD
Aloha friends and fellow youtubers I am back to test out one of the hair growth fads that naturals are really into: The Inversion Method. I first heard about it when I saw it on a video on youtube. I was surprised that people actually seemed to take this seriously and it seemed like people were receiving actual results.
From my understanding the Inversion Method is done by warming a carrier oil of your choice (olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, etc.) and lightly applying it to your scalp. Then you invert your body at an angle (forwards) for four minutes and then slowly return upright to a normal body position. You then leave the oil in your hair for at least two more hours and if you have straight hair then you can shampoo out but if you have curly or kinky curly hair you can just keep the oil in your hair. It really depends on your preference. You can even do the Green House Effect afterwords (GHE), especially if you are leaving the oil on your scalp and hair for hours.
This method is used to increase the blood flow to your scalp in order to increase hair growth. You are supposed to do this seven days in one week, once a month. Only once a month because if you do it too often your body will adjust to the increased blood flow and you might not get the hair growth that you are supposed to. After one week of doing this you are expected to get one inch of hair growth. The average person experiences one half of an inch to one inch of hair growth per month. In one year that is twelve inches.
I had to do a lot of research because I felt that many of the videos I watched were repetitive on some of the same information but did not really instruct how to do the method. I will list some of the videos/blog posts I found to be particularly helpful. I have decided to try this out for myself, I will be a guinea pig for a week. I will put up my before and after photos to compare and see if I actually received an inch of hair growth after one week. I will put the dates as well so you can compare. I don't like the idea of sitting forward while the blood pressure in my head increases but I am really curious.
What I am doing is I heated up some water on the stove. I took a recycled container from an all natural beauty product I had and mixed Extra Virgin Olive Oil with some Tea Tree Oil. After lightly oiling my scalp I am going to invert my position for four minutes, meanwhile I will be listening to my iPod because I get bored really easily. Then I will do the GHE and put on a beanie and go get some coffee at Coffee Bean. Before work I will wash my hair out because it will def be oily from the GHE. From taking my photos I definitely noticed that the hair on the right side of my head is longer and maybe grows faster. I decided the striped shirt would be good for better comparison.
Important: Do not try this method if you have a headache, are sick, or pregnant. If you are under the age of 18 please ask your parent or guardian for permission before trying this.

title: My GO-to Updo by Aniseforpeace
this style is a great protective style that doesn't look awkward, you can wear it formally & casually, put your own personal spin on this style. It's a fashion statement, but it also protects your hair. I love updos because they are very feminine, classic, and appropriate. I did this style on small two strand twists but I also do this style on my loose hair.
sorry for being MIA forever guys...
so sorry for being away guys! I hope you enjoy this.
