Week One; 3D
Over the course of this week I have experienced and learned a wide variety of things. I have learned how to broaden my horizons into different areas and ways of working, and I have tried to adjust once more to using a journal and actively updating it when I am able. It has been difficult, and my love for technology has reigned supreme in terms of keeping things up to date, however in the upcoming weeks I do plan to get on top of that.
This past week however, has acted as a place holder for something that could have been better. Something bigger, that could have worked more to our advantage. This is because there were some days that I felt could have been more productive, and other days that I feel were not cared for too much - an example of this being Thursday and Friday of last week. Truly, I believe that the work spread across those days could have been totalled up into one, however as the curriculum states, what the instructors decide is what goes. I have high hopes for the next week, however I also had high hopes for the previous in terms of 3D work. Perhaps to use software akin to Sculptris, ZBrush, or even Blender, however we were let down to photography, film making, and arts and crafts for the majority of the days. Admittedly I was absent on Monday of week one due to illness, and perhaps then we were to be issued work using 3D software, however only the proof of other peoples’ blogs can state such.
Overall I did enjoy the week, the activities set and the tasks that were issued were quite fun to complete, however as I stated before, what I am to take away from this is that in terms of 3D, people can have completely different ideas to how it can be executed. This is merely my opinion, however, and in no way does it speak for the rest of the class. So I look forward to the next sector, I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our dear Creative Media class.
