Reasons for Leaving YouTube Explained
Hey, guys! I know A LOT of you guys are wondering about the specific reasons as to why I left YouTube. This post is to explain the reasons why I left and to answer the many questions that you guys have.
As I stated in my farewell video, I haven’t had time lately to record any videos. There are many reasons why I haven’t had time to record for the past two months. Here they are:
1) About three months ago, my wife and I found out that we are expecting our second child. Although this news is EXTREMELY exciting (!!!!!!!), this also means that we are having to make preparations for when he/she arrives, which will be around November 14th. We are currently trying to secure a larger apartment for us to move in to, which is very time consuming in itself. I am also searching for a better and higher paying job, which is also time consuming and which also leads me to my second point.
2) When I find another job, which will hopefully be soon so we can start saving up and such, my new job will most likely be a Monday through Friday job, which is when I do all of my recording. At my current job, I work Thursday night through Monday morning, which gives me plenty of time to record videos during the week (that is whenever school is not in session, but I will get to that later). I am also able to get pretty much all of my editing and stuff done while I’m at work whenever it’s not busy. When I get this new job, I will not have any time to record or work on any videos during the week, nor will I be able to record on the weekends since then would be the only time for me to spend time with and take care of my family, especially with another baby on the way; they will all need me even more to help out.
3) School. I’m currently heading into my last semester of my senior year of college which will be EXTREMELY more hectic than my previous semesters. Along with homework, studying, and outside projects, this will also take up a lot of my time, as if it wasn’t being taken up already.
4) Equipment setup is very time consuming as well when preparing for recording new videos. Currently, we live in a two bedroom apartment (one room for my wife and I and one for my daughter). I do not have an extra room in my apartment for me to set up my equipment and leave it set up to save time. After every recording session, I have to tear all of my equipment down (which is a good bit) and doing that also cuts into my recording time. This factored in with school, job searching, and house/apartment hunting takes away considerable time away from my recording schedule.
5) I try to work my recording schedule around my wife’s work/school schedule. I do this because whenever she is home, I want to spend time with her because I can’t over the weekend. Where I work now is over 2 hours away from where I live. I have to leave my family every weekend to come to work, which REALLY sucks. During the weekend, I stay with my parents-in-law since they live around the area where I work. As you can probably tell, this is really hard on me knowing that I cannot see them for half of every work week. And with my wife being pregnant, morning sickness causes her to stay home a lot during the week. During that time, I utilize it to take care of her and spend time with her, which is a blessing. At the same time, this causes me to not record any videos.
These are the main reasons why I decided to leave YouTube.
Do I miss recording videos for you guys? YES!
Would I like to come back? ABSOLUTELY!
Will I ever come back? Right now, things are not looking that way. But if it comes down to it and I’m able to come back, I will.
I hope you guys understand my reasons for leaving and I hope this post answers some, if not all of your questions. I would love to make more videos for you guys, but right now, my family needs me and I am in desperate need of them as well.
I LOVE ALL OF YOU. Thank you for your constant support.
