Hello cruel world…
I had the worst day ever. My 3d printer got clogged. IT wasn’t your typical clogged. It was the type of clog where all of your filament builds up all around your nozzle, destroying your fan shroud and melting your fan. This resulted in a hardening of red filament everywhere. I was completely shocked at the mess and was terrified that I have destroyed my printer. I believe this was mostly my fault since i left to work in a rush and I didn’t take the time to set up my build correctly. This mistake lead me to work endless hours of melting parts and and filament and cleaning out the PLA gunk.
Luckily I took a deep breath ate Pho (MY favorite noodle soup dish) and sat and analyzed the situation. I then attempted to warm the nozzle through the printer settings. This would allow the plastic around the nozzle to melt away. I then took a heat gun and tried to melt off the outside plastic. To my success, the plastic came off but a mess was created. there was a lot of build up around my red insulation tape and it created some smoke around my 3d printer. But I used acetone to clean it right up.
In total, this cleanup and rebuild took 6 hours to fix and a lot of careful planning and cleaning. But my printer is up and running that is good to hear for me and for you readers too.
This a was a good experience for me to understand the havoc of owning a 3d printer. I was able to learn how to fix and rebuild and it has taught me to stay calm and try to analyze the situation. luckily I had spare fans and a lot of filament to rebuild everything.
For Now, I will bid you Adieu…
3D Printing Problems pt.2 Hello cruel world... I had the worst day ever. My 3d printer got clogged. IT wasn't your typical clogged.
Hello cruel world… Today was lousy and stressful day. I finally received my new set of filaments and as I started print my new models, I was faced with a new challenge…lifting/warping and curling . According all the 3d filament forums and youtube videos, lifting and warping are the 2 most the common and nerve breaking problems of the printing world.
The Lifting Problem
The Lifting Problem – Using wood filament
Lifting/Warping happens when the model being printed starts to rise from the bed. This has many causes such bad alignment of the nozzle to the bed, temperature issues (i left the specifics because this issue varies among the different types of printers and filaments), speed of the nozzle and infill distribution.
If you don’t solved the curling issue in time

Curling happens the filament is extruding and it ends up not stinking and it continues to the print and leaves a spaghetti strings all over your desk.
I have both of these problems and it wasted time and money for me. Right now, I ordered a a new surface bed and Kapton tape to solve the issue, and I am going to the store tomorrow to buy glue and hairspray (yes hairspray!!! ).

Passive speaker 1.0
The only I printed in today was a 3D low Poly Cloud Strife from the video game Final Fantasy VII and a dock with a a passive amplifier for my iphone 6s. Both 3D prints came out perfectly, especially the the passive dock amplifier. I was proud of the that design since this dock was my first constructed from scratch model. I even added a earphone dock that connects to an aux out speaker. Right now, I am attempting a wooden print of my passive speaker.
For now… I bid you Adieu…
