DIY (do-it-yourself) Architecture!
The residence is entered and your moving in. How does one create/design a holistic parasite to adapt itself to the individuals need? Designed as a DIY (do-it-yourself) kit of parts, the occupant can design/build ALL PARASITIC FORMS NEEDED TO INTEGRATE THE SPACES IN WHICH THEY WILL OCCUPY AND ALTER.
This is how the architect can control the final product of furnishings that work with the architecture. When the building becomes occupiable and functional, all the parasitic pieces become a holistic unit integrating themselves into the physical structure.
Un-finished Architecture...
When a completed structure becomes occupied, we become the parasite!
Other objects that complete spaces, to either brake down scale/divide or make the space functionally sound, such as exterior overhead conditions, skins, interior partitions, and furniture are also parasites within and around the architecture. When designed as a shell, the built out walls and furnishing within office spaces all become parasitic to the structure itself. Therefore, to fully complete a notion of a holistic architecture, more and more parasites become attached to their host. This ultimately adapts and alters forms and spaces and completes the final architectural image and feeling!
WITH THIS IN MIND, ALL FUNCTIONAL FURNISHINGS, ETC. NEED TO BE INTEGRATED TO CREATE A HOLISTIC ARCHITECTURE!
