consider.... the first 25 soldiers going through the program alone cuz the doctors didn't know how they would react to the serum.... most of them dying or suffering by themselves in their rooms... Then the next couple of batches getting paired up with these handful of officers who survived the program so they can comfort each other and have someone to talk to who understands what it's like... Basically gabe suffering a lot and him walking jack through the same thing so he isn't alone ):
Listen I am… already there. Especially if the responses are different because they’re trying a different cocktail each batch. So like some of the reactions Jack has aren’t even ones Gabriel dealt with.Then Gabriel gets a later treatment, maybe some final touch, and the response is So Awful and Jack just lays on the floor with him while he shivers and tries not to barf and feeling so goddamn hopeless because this angel who has been helping him through everything is so miserable and he can’t even do anything about it.
