We told our families today. We texted my mom, and my husband’s dad and mom asking them to call/FaceTime us when they could. We told Lily that I’m pregnant so she helped us with the announcement.
Husband’s mom was first to call us. Lily told her, “mommy has a baby in her tummy!” I swear she started crying when we told her, she was so excited.
Then my parents FaceTimed us and Lily told them too. My mom was like, “WAIT WHAT ARE YOU PREGNANT!” And my dad basically said the same thing. They both seem really excited and my dad did his typical joking around about why tf I’d want another kid.
Then the husband’s dad (and his girlfriend) FaceTimed us. Lily told them and they were both so excited. FIL made a quarantine baby joke, of course. 😂
But overall, announcing to our families went really well. I wasn’t sure how my parents would react because my mom is always saying how she’s upset that we don’t live near them, so I was kinda expecting her to not be excited. But since it went so well, I’m feeling so much happier.
Definitely planning to wait until at least 10 weeks to announce to Facebook. Last pregnancy we announced at 4 weeks because my husband was deploying and he wanted to be here when we announced. But this time, no way. I felt just like an incubator or something last time and I just want a little bit of privacy before we tell everyone else.
I still can’t believe this is real. 😬
