I don't know you yet, not your physical body. But I recognize the trace of your soul in this precious world every day. It is a silent echo, a tremor of bone. The slightest crack over my lips. My fingers reach for my mouth but it feels like I've missed you by a millisecond. Every moment is brimming with a what if, a where are you, a come find me. When I get lost staring into the falling sun, I know you are doing the same. Your eyes are the sunflowers carved into the stained glass at my favorite cathedral. I'll recognize the nectar of your eyes when I see you. How the light pours through you, how your warmth bathes my skin. Here you are, growing flowers over my rot, watering my silhouette, trimming the splinters of my ribs. Wait for me, the plum tree is but a sapling and our hearts are not yet ablaze.

Journal Entry 4

For my paper I have looked at a wide variety of sources. I have looked at technical papers, scholarly papers, newspaper articles, opinion pieces, and press releases. Each of these has their own strengths and weaknesses. The newspaper articles were easiest to find, and often gave me the information closest to my topic, though they have the downside of not being as credible as a scholarly paper. On the flip side, scholarly papers are more credible, but also much harder to find. Most papers I found had to do with smartphone overuse, or social media, not smartphones themselves. Opinion articles were easy to find, but I had to be careful with them because it is very easy to become biased using such an article as a source. Press releases are similar to opinion articles, as companies do not want to advertise their flaws.
