yo! i just saw u answering an ask abt the brisbane show and after looking thru some of ur asks im actually feeling a lot better abt my apprehensions concerning that gig. i'm 16 and it was my first show ever and tbh i moved out of the pit before the show even started bc several ppl around me were being really aggressive! the pit looked scary af from the stairs where i ended up standing (all that surging...) and i hope you're okay (im just glad 2 hear that kind of behaviour isnt normal)

and oh man i’m glad you got out while you could! thank you for your concern lovely and yes!!! seriously that crowd wasn’t normal, people are usually so lovely and watch out for your safety etc- pits are always gonna be pushy and a lil uncomfortable and very close but they aren’t nasty and violent!!! take care! xx

Omg really! Your first pit experience??! :( I’m sorry, that wasn’t a good first experience at all- crowds usually aren’t like that.. people are generally so lovely and helpful unlike that show. I wasn’t in a very good mood unfortunately so I’m sorry if u saw me unflatteringly dyin in the pit! And I know right, the crowd were ridiculous I couldn’t believe iT

I saw your rant about 14/15 yo's being compete brats, and I apologize for my age group. However I disagree; I think it isn't fair to put young but still polite fans w/ rowdier ppl of the same age. (I'm like 4'11" and wow tall ppl my age are rude af to me). Idk, I sympathize w/ your plight but it's not just 18+ ppl that have issues w/ wild 14/15 yo's. Kids the same age have problems w/ those types of fans too. (It's not even just this age group; I've met a lot of mean college kids at concerts)

Dude you don’t have to apologise for your age group, you can’t control their maturity levels! It is a very bratty age group in general, always has been! 14-16 is a very awkward kind of age group and it’s a difficult time period for a lot of people so they are often really ratty and hard to control. And omg 4′11 rip it sucks being short at gigs, and can be really dangerous like saturday when I kept getting pushed down and couldn’t breathe lmao. I’m 5′3 and I’m pretty much always tiny compared to even the U18′s sigh. And yea I get you, it’s a really difficult thing with the underage group bc all the genuinely chill, nice people end up having to deal with bitchy kids causing trouble but the only thing you can do is either get the barrier so you have something to hold onto, don’t go right into the front middle of the pit etc it really sucks but once you’re 18 everything is sweet! 

And I understand where you’re coming from, there was definitely still 18+ people being bitchy and aggressive because there will always be selfish assholes starting shit but the majority of the people being violent and overly pushy etc were the under 18′s who had white wristbands on… 

You see such a huge difference at an 18+ show because there is the occasional person being bratty and violent but the security pulls them out and the other fans make sure they back off, like the pit is usually really safe because everyone is looking after each other and making sure it’s a safe, great time!

honestly at first I was following this on ur blog and I was against just 18+ shows cause I'm only 16 and I'd HATE to miss seeing my fav band just because I wasn't 18 yet, but then I saw someone mention having a <18 AND an 18+ show and that sounds like it's safe and everyone would get to see the band. but would that be possible bc that's a lot more shows for bands to be doing idk I'm just :/

In melbourne they banned AA shows bc of this reason, like it just isn’t a great idea to mix adults with teenagers, it can get so dangerous etc. And yeah I understand that… I missed 21p’s 18+ gig last year by a month bc I hadn’t yet turned 18 and that was super disappointing but honestly AA shows are such a disaster, saturday was just really poorly organised with the venue/security etc.

And yea 21p held an U18 and 18+ show in melb yesterday! A much better idea tbh. Once you’re 18 you’ll understand what we mean tbh, 18+ gigs are a dream come true, everyone is lovely and helpful and it’s just well coordinated and you don’t get screwed over!

I was at the show and it was fine?? I'm 19 & I didn't really have any problems with the ages. If security were better and water was handed out it would've been nicer, but I don't think it's an age issue.

i don’t understand these messages i feel like we were legit at different shows like where were you in the pit because it was really bad at the front few rows…i was wedged in the middle at the front and i couldn’t even move. everyone was just over the top pushy, elbowing/kicking/bitching etc it wasn’t a nice vibe from the crowd at all and it was surprising bc i’ve never experienced that because shows are usually SO different. you could tell most of them were obnoxious fifteen year olds (i could see their underage wristbands) who were trying to get as close to the band as possible not caring whether people got hurt and it was not cool…plus i’m tiny so I got crushed the whole time and almost suffocated and now I can barely move my neck today a great time

i don't think that all-ages gigs should be banned, but i do believe that in those gigs, there should be water available and no crowd surfing and security making sure that there is enough space for everyone and basically just taking care of the crowd (((because adults can do it themselves while children don't mind about those things)))

if u were at last night’s gig u would take this message back…all ages gigs are not cool. mixing those ages just isn’t a good idea because the kids are annoying and the adults get pissed and everyone is just angry and last night was proof of how weak the system of mixing those ages is except for like festivals where all ages works, small shows are just not good for mixed because everyone is crammed into a tiny venue and it just doesn’t work out well, too many different sets of maturity levels etc. last night was predominately awful, and i was talking to maria vintagewentz earlier and she’s at the melbourne 18+ show right now having a great chill time and just having that group of adults without all the dramatic teenagers is just a huge difference it really is. so many people last night were so ratty & careless i can’t believe it i’ve never been treated so badly in my life??? stop all ages shows 2k15-forever
