the knights get plenty of downtime -------------------- paid , of course , and it’s nice to be able to relax and do whatever they want when the world is secure and safe. it never lasts long , but that’s beside the point

regardless of this , Eggsy still sometimes heads down to the tailor shop , on his days off , to hang out with Harry and Merlin and some of the older , more experienced knights. he learns about Kingsman and the work they do “ behind the scenes ” -- the comparably unglamorous , preventative measures taken to ensure that threats are dismissed before the knights are needed to fight them.

but most of all , he goes to learn about his dad , about the former Lancelot , the man who’s shaped his life. i’ve talked before about Eggsy taking various routes to be closer to his father , and this is another one -- where even when Harry and Merlin and some of the others have exhausted their stories of him , Eggsy can sit in Lancelot’s seat at the round table , can pull out the playlist he made specifically of songs his father used to listen to , and just. be present with him. just exist.
