According to Wikipedia, Hemera is the personification of daytime. Now, that would imply that Jane's a Light Player - but if that was how it worked, then she'd have been Rose's Denizen, too.
Rose and Vriska both got Cetus, which implies that Denizens are based on your Aspect - but Cetus is a sea monster, and has no connection to Light herself. Your assigned Denizen might depend on your Aspect, but they don't seem to evoke it directly.
...what exactly am I looking at here?

We've talked a lot about a hypothetical Second Alternian Empire, and an English-empowered Condesce is the kind of person who could actually start one, right here on Earth.
