Today is the 41st day of summer, so you know what that means?

The Canadian pop punk band formed on the 41st day of summer (hence the band’s name) in 1996. They would go on and make various demos until they were signed to their first record label in 1999.
2 years later they would quickly gain recognition and rise into popularity with their debut album “All Killer No Filler” with the infamous pop punk hits “Fat Lip” and “In Too Deep”. The guys were also well known for their silly antics, some even recorded on film which was then put together into a DVD that came with the original 2002 “Does This Look Infected?” CD.
In the next several years the band had some members come and go (some even returning years later), the occasional brushes with death, side projects, Grammy nominations, marriages (and divorces), kids, etc. The small, goofy, pop punk band we came to know and love grew up right in front of our eyes.
In May of 2023, the band announced their disbandment via social media, but couldn’t leave without saying goodbye. The band is currently on their farewell tour “The Tour of The Setting Sum” and put out their 8th and final album “Heaven :x: Hell” earlier this year.
Sum 41’s impact and legacy on the pop punk and rock scene will forever live on in their music and their fans🤚🏻🖕🏻
