#Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue Operation : Communications With 41 Trapped Workers Established ; First Visuals Emerge
November 21 morning brought some relief for family members of the 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel for nine days as the newly inserted six-inch pipeline made communicating with them easier. And first visuals of workers have emerged as well.
The family members said they could hear the workers clearly through the new pipeline, which will also be used for sending larger quantities inside the tunnel.
One of the trapped workers, Jaidev, while speaking to the supervisor at the tunnel collapse site, said in Bangla, “Please record, I will tell something to my maa. Ma, tension korona aami thik achi. Time a kheye nebe. Babakeo time a kheye nite bolbe (Mother, do not worry about me, I am fine. Please you and father eat your meals on time).”
An alternative 6-inch pipeline was pushed in through the rubble of the collapsed tunnel on Monday.
Till Monday, a four-inch existing tube was being used to supply oxygen and items like dry fruits and medicines into the section of the tunnel beyond the rubble of the collapsed portion.
