45ACIDBABIES are back with new single ‘Don’t 4get to Smile’

Continuing their onslaught of head-turning releases, Dutch pop group 45ACIDBABIES are bringing a new single to the table. The inimitably exciting four-piece are quickly becoming the go-to band for original, dynamic and refreshingly vibrant rock infused pop, and their new track ‘Don’t 4get To Smile’ is no exception.

‘Don’t 4get To Smile’ follows on from it’s predecessors ‘Mommy’s Favourite 1’ and ‘Only Class6 From Now On'. Taking it up yet another notch, this one is propelled by it’s stomping drum beat, a colourful vocal performance, hyperactive guitar and bass work and frantic, 80s synth sounds that make it giddy from start to finish. On their new single, the band added:

“'Don’t 4get To Smile’ is a direct answer to our latest single ‘Only Class6 FromNow On.’ While ‘Class6’ was written to emphasise the fake-it-till-you-make-it-principle, where you can create your own success, ‘Don’t 4get To Smile’ underlines the exact opposite view on things. We entered a Black Mirror kind of world, where happiness and validation can only be found on the Internet. Everyone shows their best side on social media, while in real life, no one is special and we’re all glued to our phone screens 24/7. We know something is grim about this way of living. We could do somethingabout it, but we choose to be ignorant and go with the flow, cause we’re way too small to turn things around anyway. EVERYTHING IS FINE.’’

Renowned for destroying genre boundaries, versatile Dutch garage punks 45ACIDBABIES have unleashed their next instalment, an undeniable head-turner of a tune that encompasses everything the band are all about: ‘Mommy’s Favourite 1’.

After their 2020 single ‘3 (Walk With Me)’, Sophia de Geus, Daniel Brem, Robin de Geus and Giorgio Paquay are getting back into releasing ways with a sucker-punch of a record that will continue to shockand intrigue their ever-expanding fanbase. Featuring a relentless grooving bassline that Billie Eilish would be proud of, this is controlled chaos at it’s best. A truly gnarly punk-infused pop track that dips in and out of hip-hop, grunge, fuzz-rockand garage rock, whilst also having quirky sample stabs from games, giving them their inimitable signature sound.
