"If you look closely enough at a tree, you will see that it and I are very alike. A tree bares many signs of abuse and aging, both outwards and inwards. It has been weathered down, and struck, weakened, taken adavantage of and for granted and on its bark, within its ragged ridges and battered wood, it bears a story. A life time worth of stories if you ever get so lucky to see within. I have been weathered down, I have been struck, I have got scars on the inside and out and if you look closely enough, if you look long enough to see into my bark, my skin, you will see those stories I carry with me. But despite it all, I still stand tall like a tree. Forever rooted, ready and willing to offer shade and comfort and life to those who need it. But once I am cut down, I want you to not to remember me as a weak and spineless girl, not a girl who stood just for others, but for herself as well. A girl who was as strong as tree. A girl who left some of her roots behind….." -excerpt from another book ill never write LOL
