South Africa produces about 45% of all the electricity generated on the continent and as our economy expands, so does our demand for energy. 49M is about a better future for all South Africans economically, socially and environmentally. The initiative asks that we look for a sustainable future and a better tomorrow for all. Remember, energy efficiency is not only a national concern, it is a global concern. You may not realise it, but we're all connected, and everything we do affects the people around us. As the world expands, energy usage has become a global concern and only by working together can we overcome the current energy and environmental demands on the planet.
