Congratulations to this dynamic father/daughter duo who graduated Saturday, both receiving bachelor's degrees in psychology. Butch McLaughlin, a first-generation college student, was inspired to complete his degree after visiting campus and experiencing SOAR with daughter Marisa. ⛏🎓🎉 #49erGrad18 (at UNC Charlotte)

In fall 2017, Taylor Marceau was largely wheelchair reliant and wrestling severe joint, muscle, and nerve pain. At that time, her connective tissue disorder, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, worsened and interrupted her studies. Saturday, Taylor and service dog Czar triumphantly walked the stage accepting a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Taylor is on track to earn a second bachelor's degree in computer engineering this December with plans to pursue a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
