Module 2: Exercise B: Music Video

For my video I decided to do a montage of my favorite ship for the longest! It’s from the video game Final Fantasy 7 series, all of these clips are from the most recent release of the FF7 Remake! and some clips are from the Crisis core video game.

My all time favorite pairing is Cloud and Aerith, however there are always those people who pair aerith with her ex boyfriend who had passed away prior to the video game. Even though its been years since Aerith has seen Zack, some people still believe she is waiting for her first love to come back to her. Its unknown to players if Aerith ever fell in love with Cloud who resembles her ex, (who’s name is zack) or if she found a new love in cloud.

I paired this song with my old school favorite by Mariana's trench “B team” which is about a man who is in love with a girl who doesn’t really ever express her true feelings which makes him feel like the B-team to her actual love. I felt like it resonated so well with the relationship between Cloud and Aerith, Just because they both have loves prior to each other. Aerith’s being Zack, and Cloud’s being his childhood friend Tifa.

However this video goes more into depth on how Cloud is the B-team to Zack but its interpretation if he really is, or if it just seems that way...

Final Fantasy 7 was my childhood growing up, so the characters and the story mean a lot to me! hope you enjoy!

What I found most interesting about the film is the fact that the artist Ai Weiwei not only was an activist but an artist within China as well. I believe that being an artistic advocate is the best kind of activist because when creating artwork you can also spread awareness and messages to the public and catch their eyes with your work. What made his work so renowned was how ambitious he was on sharing his political views with the public and his thoughts on the Chinese government. Because he was so adamant about his intentions with sharing his work with the public Ai Weiwei would create anything he has seen fit with the ideas he formulated in his head. His design was based on the material he had and the messages he wanted to convey when it came to the final touches of each piece.

 What I noted about his work the most is that it’s grand and extremely intricate to the eye, its eye-catching and there are always so many aspects and angles in which you could study the piece. I selected a few that really stuck out to me and amazed me when it came to repetition in pattern work and how grandiose the works ended up being. Ai Weiwei’s work was and still is monumental to china whether the government likes it or not, his dedication to not only his craft but his message speaks volumes about how he didn’t care how much he clashed with government powers.
