me at the signing table + the stuff i got signed (yes he personalised the book signature beyond the name because of the bingo card, it’s great! )
Yay! Someone who's read the books :D Did you spot the horses, and the cities, plus the trees? In the dining room, the columns were made to look like trees, and there was also a Life Stone, and the creepy birdman at the end. It's all just so so exciting!!!
yes, Matt has said that the last four books would be a four part story and it’s good to know hes got started setting up clues and giving us stuff to make tinfoil hat theories about. I have a few theories that i am probably going to talk about on this blog with in the next couple of weeks
I also have a few crackpot theories about the creepy birdman that i have been thinking of recently as well. the next three books are going to be fun
Have you read the Four Legendary Kingdoms yet??
Yes I have,
Do you think Lily has realised the full implications of the arranged marriage Hades was forcing her into? I'd be interested to hear your opinion
I think she would have thought about the implications, Lily is a pretty smart kid and learns that:
a) Dion was a sleaze bag (he literally threatened all her loved ones with death and later said that her life would be a ‘misery’ if they got married) and
b) the royals aren’t good people (because they are basically the people of the capital from the hunger games)
There is no upside to this for her at all, so I figure she had that sinking feeling of dread in the pit of her gut, which is part of how she bonds with Iolanthe in the book; they both are used as pawns in various ways by various people and hate it intensely
I like Hades as a character, i think he has a lot of potential to be really interesting, but it was a dick move to not let her have a say in what was going to be her future. Though at that point Hades was still oblivious to the fact that his kids where douche-bags of the highest order and thought that Lily and Dion were friends
Though I also feel that Lily was very confident that Jack would somehow stop it because if Lily has learn anything about Jack, it’s that he’s a goddamn force of nature and no-one can stop him when he’s on a mission. Jack is unstoppable and while he doesn’t want to be involved, he will fight to the end if you involve him, which is proven in this book.
and now both of Jack and parents have prevented a ‘Marriage’ that Lily didn’t want, which is pretty cool to me, and a neat little parallel which I am 78% sure was unintentional.
a side-note: who else wants to see Orlando’s Daughter?? the idea that Iolanthe has a niece is really interesting to me and considering her betrothed was killed i’d like to know more about her.Does she like Iolanthe? Will she join the Team? Will she be Lily’s first female friend that’s her age that we get to see?
I just finished 4LK in basically one sitting, and would be totally down to yell about it!
yes!!! let us all yell about the book
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Warning! SPOILERS FOR 4LK in both the description on AO3 and in the story itself. A missing scene from the end of the book, concerning the two main heroes and the everything they’ve just been through.
I have not tagged any spoilers on tumblr, just in case.
First thoughts about 4lk
Okay, I really liked this book, Jack was great as was Alby.
I ADORE MAE MERRYWEATHER SO MUCH???? I look forward to Matt killing her of and breaking my heart into itty bitty pieces
I liked Iolanthe's involvement in this story, and the whole conspiracy aspect.
I loved how scarecrow and mother were used, especially mother and jack knowing each other.
I like how Matt was like 'what is bigger then the destruction of earth??? THE DESTRUCTION OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE.' Bless u Matt, never change.
My biggest annoyance with this book was that ZOE HAD ONE LINE OF DIALOUGE. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit salty about that, but she and the twins are obviously going to be parts of the next three books
