"marley! emergency!" serena's voice is a call the second she steps foot into the familiar shop, rightfully assuming the owner will be within earshot. the emergency is surely the sort that can only be solved here : culinary. serena looks a bit of a mess, really, her signature blonde hair more flyaway than styled and her fingers flying over her phone screen as she sidesteps tourists come to see the world-famous shop in person.
"i know i already owe you, like, a dozen, but could you please lend a hand to a girl in need?" the van der woodsen's are frequent and spendy customers - - - of course they are, what with cheese and pastry from jan & joe's being a must have at any true society event - - - and this is certainly not the first time serena has burst in in need of last minute canapés.
