“Megling Gunner to base, we’re moving in to the mission zone. Ready to engage.”
“Understood. Be careful Gunner, we don’t know what is going on but if you see any signs of suspicious activity notify us immediately and do not engage.”
The gunner crawled through the brushes with her cannon tucked underneath her arm. Multiple yordle soldiers side by side crawling through the forest brushery. The Megling Commandos were called out to the battlefields of justice yet again, this time having a rather mysterious case on their hands.
An entire village had gone dead silent in only a matter of days. Three days ago the town was blooming with joy from the people who lived happily as could be, now there was no one to be found. The only hint behind the townsfolk’s disappearance was a distorted radio signal sent out about sixteen hours ago. While it was unclear, there was a feint call for help that was translated.
Unsure of what could this mean a small scout group was sent out to investigate. A few hours later they sent back a call saying ow the village has been completely abandoned. No signs of any attack or any form of retreat, everyone had just disappeared without a trace with everything left in place. However, after the call the scouts had not returned back to the checkpoint. Now convinced something was absolutely wrong, the commander had sent out a handful of troops with Tristana to find the missing squad and the villagers.
Now breaking through the forest, Tristana stared out to see a large variety of buildings made entirely of stone with straw roofs. Before the small town was a river broke into two paths, one that lead further down into the forest and the other leading into the center of town. Though what as most eye-catching were ruins that stood high above the primitive buildings, so much so it just looked out of place compared to everything else. Various pillars held up the front of the architecture, vines wrapping around each and nearly covered a small stair case that lead to two large stone doors. To top it all off, an eerie silence setting up the tone for the mission with no sounds of work, chattering or bustle. No doubt about it, this place was completely empty.
“Fall in troops. No room for mistakes here, stay in your squads.” Tristana ordered as she began to swim over the small river to make her way over.
