Super personal honesty hour question: You've finally convinced me to get into Disgaea, but I have no idea where to start!!! Is Disgaea 5 a good point in the series to jump in, or should I start from the beginning so I'll appreciate the newer games more?
yaaay! any disgaea is good to jump in, as they all have isolated stories, thus meaning you can start at disgaea 1, disgaea 3, or disgaea 5 with no problem.
it’s up to you, though if you wanna play the whole series, start with the first and go in order, but if you need to scratch that disgaea itch, 5 is perfectly acceptable. one thing to note, however, Disgaea makes a million quality of life impovements with each new game, meaning if you play disgaea 5 then choose to go back to disgaea 1, it’ll be difficult to adjust, hence why i’d reccommend playing in release order, though it’s not required.
