I woke up anxious, depressed and afraid, feeling like shit with a headache and burning eyes (like in the few other mornings so far). I dressed up and went to check the mail. Nothing.
However, the weather was super nice. Very crispy cold and windy. You can feel the cold going through your flesh into your bones! So I decided to be outside, get some fresh air and hopefully it would help me feel better. I took my rake and went to rake fallen leaves away.
All that helped me some but Universe stepped in. I wasn't outside even a minute when neighbor came out (old man) while taking trashes. He stopped to talk to me, saying how happy he is to see me since it's been a while since our last chatting. We chatted a bit and I mentioned I had to put my cat down. He then started to tell things from his younger days when he had dogs and cats. One by one he lost them in tragic ways and therefor he, and his wife, decided they would not take another pet ever again. His next words comforted me so much: "I know how you feel. It's hard time at first." We chatted some more before he left, wishing each other good autumn time.
I raked some more before coming in. Just after I came in, the doorbell rang. It was my other neighbor, older man as well. Each year he has given me Christmas gift :) I have given him a gift back, naturally. This time he had a gift for me too!
He stood there, offering me this long, multicolored, knitted wool "worm" which is supposed to be used on rake's (or broom's) stem. He said: "This will help to keep your hands warm during winter." since stem of a broom / rake can get super cold during winters even that it's wood. He said he himself has been using his for 3 years now and this year he has given these "warmers" for 6 people now, me being one of them!
What makes this even more special is that he SPECIFICALLY had asked his friend to MAKE THIS ONE for me! It wasn't some used extra piece or anything like that. It was FOR ME! <3
Today has been a nice day so far right after I woke up. I just wish I could be outside more but there's very little bit of things I can do. Well, when it starts to snow / ground freezes, I can start to feed birds, squirrels and rabbits / hares! That way I have daily activity which I'm looking forward to! :3
