Lifting the Veils
It was late Halloween night, far past when the last of the trick or treaters stopped walking the streets, and even the older high school kids finished their toilet papering and rowdy going-ons. The moon light shined through the branches of the woods, as Wil headed down that dark path of his to his favorite tree deep inside.
Everyone at the manor had been asleep for a least a good hour to his knowledge. He had needed to wait, to make sure no one had followed him... including his brother. God, he would have loved to have had him there for this, but that would not have flown. There was no way in hell he was going to chance him seeing the body Danny was currently in .. though that was exactly what was going to get changed that night.
Giddy energy soared through William as he almost sprinted deeper and deeper into the woods, his sketchbook firmly tucked under his arm. The trees and earth felt alive around him. The fall crisp leaves and air making him feel almost high with energy. It tingled.
With a giggling little laugh, he finally danced up to the tree, and sat down, finding the page with Danny in it. With a smile, he placed his palm down on the painting of his friend, just feeling him there for a minute, like to remember this moment, before, he opted to take out his pencil, making that little doorway. Wil stepped in.
On the outside, the sketchbook rustled alone in the autumn leaves. The faint sounds of whispering airy like giggles mixed with the breeze.
“Danny.. ~” Wil cooed a hint of a bubbling glimmer in his tone, as his eyes nearly sparkled. He was seriously so excited, he was beaming. This had to work. It just had to. “Oh, Danny boy~ Wake up. Guess what day it is?” He grin just widened even more. “It’s Halloween.”
