1. Kristen Barry-Ordinary Life 

-This one has been the driving force behind my RE8 fic with Karl and Sonja (The Sacrifice). I’m not finished with the story still, but I keep revisiting this song because I feel it captures their connection. The melody is a bit haunting too and fits with the overall plot and setting. 

2. Tourist-We Stayed Up All Night 

-I had a classmate of mine in college who I deeply bonded with share this with me when we worked on an assigned art project together. We stayed on campus, in the open art studio and painted for hours. Literally from 9pm until 7 in the morning, we were listening to this on repeat and having some Deep Talk (tm). I’ve been applying this song to my first reader x canon character fanfic (Ardyn FFXV). I’ve been able to come up with some good bonding scenes with this one. 

3. Motopony-Daylight’s Gone 

-This is definitely an earworm song for me. Once I get the bug, I’ll listen to it on repeat especially when I’m driving. This and another I listened to the most when I was road tripping in CA in 2021. Daylight’s Gone helped me come with a good conflict scene between two protagonists in a zombie novel I’ve been plotting down for a couple years. 

4. Sara Bareilles-Gravity

-Another classmate in college introduced me to this one. She did a series of couples kissing based on songs, and I remember the piece that went to this song was explosive with purples. Gravity has helped me build up some of the more emotional scenes I plan on putting into both The Sacrifice and the reader x Ardyn story. 

5. Example-Changed The Way You Kissed Me 

-I got nothing for WIPS 😂 I heard this in a nightclub at Portland and it stuck with me for a LONG time. I remember it was fun AF to crowd jump to.
