The fact that we got “(They Long to Be) Close to You” in all of its beautiful bare-bones glory as Sam stared longingly at Mercedes only to have her enthusiastically endorse this Sam and Rachel madness really threw me. But what is Glee going to do if not haphazardly throw characters into inexplicable couples like a drunk guy playing darts?

Backlot are you trying to say that Naya is a better singer/performer than Darren and Lea? Because if so you must be out of your damn mind.
I seriously feel like I’ve received blunt trauma to the brain when I watch the Samchel stuff this season. I mean wtf are they doing? It’s not like I’m super invested in Rachel or Sam but it does impact the main story and it’s just been absurd and completely inconsistent. Did they want a comedic hypnotizing story, a comedic story that turns into a love story, is this just an infatuation or something more serious? Also why would they have Rachel say I love you to someone again and have it be in such a seemingly meaningless situation? And why have Rachel develop feelings for some one who resembles Finn in certain ways? No matter what the outcome of all this it’s still been a giant waste of time.
