WIP Wednesday Proof of Life
Hello! I’m alive!
I thought that after a busy summer, back-to-school would afford me some reprieve and time to get back to reading and writing; instead, September really slammed into me like a Mac truck 😅 and my attempts to get back onto this site have looked a little like this:

Very little has been written over the past month, but I think I have enough to share for a WIP Game:
rules: share one sentence/excerpt from your wip(s) that starts with each letter of the word you’ve been given.
I've been struggling with the final chapter of Yǒng Yuǎn (forever) mainly because it's a MONSTER with world building and dual POV 🫠 I'll continue to chip at it little by little - these rough sentences are for my fellow Pero-wife Wym's word, DEAR:
Deep pools of dark brown, knowing and wise, assess you studiously but you welcome their piercing gaze. In fact, you may have remained forever transfixed if it wasn’t for the electric current that jolts your entire body when Pero's hand slides gently over your palm.
Every moment and feeling soaks deep into your very bones as surely as you melt into the mattress upon which you dream. He’s there, of course. Pero.
And perhaps because your mind had already fixated on thoughts of your handsome bodyguard, you spot Pero's car immediately when looking out your window – still parked in the same spot from when he brought you home last night.
Resigned, though not in frustration, you say haltingly, “Well, I guess if you’re going to live here, you should probably know. I have these dreams…”
For those who enjoy The Rockford Portfolio, I have been very inspired for them lately - there are 4+ stories in the WIP pile for Detective Rockford and his beloved Shutterbug 🫣 I really hope to post the fic below soon; snippets courtesy of Adriana's word TOWER:
Tim fucks you slow and tender all night.
Only when he feels the tension dissipate from your lithe frame, does Tim adjust you in his arms; putting your flower bouquet on the hood of his car so he can use both hands, Tim wipes your wet cheeks and tilts your face upwards so he can meet your eyes with the understanding and care in his own, “Shutterbug, tell me what’s wrong. And don’t say it’s nothing. I’m a detective, you know?”
With a happy, crooked smile, Tim takes the bag from you and with his other hand, pulls you in by the waist for a sweet kiss, crushing you to him in a big bear hug – the type that would normally set your body aflame.
Emotional, you nod, “I trust you, Tim. I want you to mark me as yours.”
Rounding the corner of your block, you’re wallowing in the misery of your own making when you’re stopped in your tracks by the most wonderous sight waiting outside of your building.
BONUS For Cia's Last Sentence Tag Game, an extra Halloween Rockford:
“You’re a good man, Tim! And you deserve to have all the good things – no matter what anyone might say!” at your obvious tears, Tim scoops you into his arms, big hands coming up to cradle and soothe the back of your head.
“I’m no detective, but something tells me this isn’t about pumpkins, Shutterbug.”
