I just watched Subspecies 1 through 4 in the last 48 hrs. My brain is now overloaded by Radus raspy voice , skeezy euro actors and that FullMoon go to castle. You know what though, the movies didn't age too badly. After watching the new prequel last month I felt diving into the old FullMoon catalogue was a great way to ease into the Spoopy season. Of all the FullMoon franchises this one is perhaps the classiest and spookiest. Sure there are plot holes big enough to drive a truck through, padding forcing the acts to vamp (pun only slightly on purpose). But Radu is a pretty cool lead monster, basically the Dracula of FullMoon. Ugly and creepy but only once you get over his weird voice and his constant drooling. The female lead Michelle is haunted and stalked by Radu and in the sequels is also a vampire if maybe a tad of a neurotic vampire. In the sequels Michelle is a different actor but both are gorgeous and once she is a vampire she's very different in general so it shouldn't phase anyone. Gore doesn't happen a lot BUT when it does, wow it's impressive for its budget. No spoiler in knowing that Radu is killed at the end of every movie but that's what monsters do as they just get resurrected in the next one. His rebirth in 2 is very gooey and his death in 3 is great. 4 sometimes called Awakening or Bloodstorm takes a dip in production value and a leap of faith in plot. Radu seems like a different actor but they just got lazy on his make up and he semi forgot how to do the voice for a bit. But it makes up for that in ridiculousness.
