For those of you who may not know, Women’s Rights Day is not just for cis gendered White able bodied straight females. This day is for all women. Straight, gay or queer, trans or cis. Black, white, Muslim, Asian, Latina. What have you. Able bodied or not. Religious or not. Educated or not. Suffering with mental illness or not. This day is for every woman, no matter the shape or size. But this isn’t the only day women’s rights should be taken into account. We aren’t just mothers girlfriends or sisters. We’re people. With feelings and ideas. Not an object, not a lapdog, and most certainly not a servant. We are not below men. And this is an everyday struggle. We’re equals. Who deserve rights (and a goddamn say) to our own bodies. We are not objects.
