The Heart of Night City

Hey fellow cyber-fans!

Right after revealing the theme for this month's challenge, I knew I have to participate. THE GANGS! (My personal favourite is definitely Tiger Claws as I love Japanese culture. With their glowing neon tattoos and bikes and katanas... ah, so cool...)

It was awesome to gather more info about each gang and think about how to properly portray them.

I’m so happy there is still AAA game developer as you guys, at CDPR. Trying to give us the best of the best you can deliver, I'm really grateful... even for the delays ;D Keep up the awesome work!

Also I'm so happy I finished this on time, as I kinda wasn't sure which way to go from the base concept. Only thing I'm a bit concerned about is maybe the f##k ton of colours I used, as my original plan was to keep the pictures separate XD but Night City is all full of colours, so it kinda looks good, amiright?

The Gangs Of Night City

Hello! @cyberpunkgame and fellow Choombas!! 

As a Cyberpunk 2077 “ Fan-atic !” I couldn’t contain my excitement at the new Tumblr Creates: Cyberpunk! challenge theme, GANGS OF NIGHT CITY. One of the most interesting things that I found about the whole premise of Night City were its gangs and the interesting people that came along with it. 

I had so many ideas for the challenge that I decided to incorporate every single one of them in my artwork design :) ! I borrowed inspiration from street art, Graffiti, abstract paintings and a wee bit from Andy Warhol too. I wanted to create a lived-in kind of look with the artwork much like the setting in Night City where each gang has its own agenda but are also locked in on dispute with one other over conflicting ideals. I also wanted to portray the colorful people that inhabit Night City too. I think this looks better in real life than on picture, I am a really bad photographer lol! :l

If you are thinking about my allegiance it would probably be with the Animals, I think they would make for great Workout buddies lol !!  One more thing: when you don’t have any Cyberpunk 2077 gear, you make your own! Time for some Animalistic gains!!

I’ve living , working and shooting fotos in the Skid Row Area for over 20 years now. It was an honor for me when Retna and @mac_arte brought me in on the project right in the heart of Skid Row on 6th and Crocker. I did a photo of Slim Flexin Representing Strength because it’s really only the strong survive down there. It seems like when your living on the Row anything can happen at anytime. It’s already bad enough if your living on the streets down there, but it can go from bad to all bad real quick. Retna and MAC chose this photo to do a Mural of on the side of a building that was gonna be a place to feed , entertain and have workshops for the Homeless. It last about a year, it was a non profit that ran out of money and it’s been empty ever since. It’s was a cool project to be a part of and for all of us to give back to the community.
