What happened in the Veronica Mars finale?

I keep seeing people saying it was GoT levels of terrible and I want to know what happened before I recommit to VM

Here is what I know. That people’s hopes may go on forever, but I’m not sure how they do. I’m not sure how long I can go on like this, feeling like this. I can’t make it better, or maybe, I’m not trying hard enough. Maybe I can try but I choose not to.

I walked to Montrose Beach this morning to stare at the waves. I feel a little better, a little sadder. Does anyone even care? Does anyone notice me?

I went on a few dates with a boy a few weeks ago and he never texted me again. I watch for him all over our neighborhood. I don’t know why.
