Adieu by Matsuzaki Akemi (1979)
Our first release of the new year is a short but very precious work: Adieu by Matsuzaki Akemi, which was published in June's issue no. 3, 1979.
June is, as you all know, is a treasure trove... It IS the history of BL manga, after all. But to be fair, I get overwhelmed whenever I flip through a June issue because every corner has something that makes me go "wow!" So, personally, I'm not fit for unearthing the treasures those pages hide.
But I have good friends who do that in my stead and drop all these more digestible-sized magazine pages into my lap <3 The IA has the entire issue 3 for those interested, but we used Project June's scans because they do Matsuzaki's art more justice. And their sacrifice of the magazines for scanning shall not be forgotten.
Our research revealed that this story was also included in a later one shot collection of hers, Love Game (ラブ・ゲーム, 1997). But as it always happens with tankoubon editions, it was grayscaled and is far from the glory of this color version. So, I pretty much hate it. Here's an example of how it looks.
Nevertheless, I'll upload it under Love Game on MD, because it's not like this one shot was lost in magazine archives and still available for purchase.
