Im not gonna lie - the whole fic wont be done for a few months at least, and I dont want to post it as a WIP because I know the beginning is going to be edited a LOT before Im done. But I have a good 13k drafted as of right now and a lot of it is some of my best work so I'm REALLY excited to share it when its eventually done.
For now I need to do a lot more research. The fic was inspired by the INCREDIBLE fic With Rome Below Us by whimsicule (https://archiveofourown.org/works/25975018) And since I'm writing a fic where a Vatican priest is having sex with a Muslim man before leaving the priesthood I want to make sure I'm not mishandling anything in a way that does harm. (And honestly I've been debating the Vatican aspect of it anyway - but that's a whole rant for my beloved friends/betas.)
I have Nicky's general emotional journey sketched out, and I know what Joe's arc is, but this fic addresses some pretty specific stuff about faith and theology and church politics so I have a lot of stuff to double check before I can write a good chunk of it.
