Moly chewed anxiously at the inside of her lip while she tried to focus her attention anywhere but on what lay ahead, the interviews. Interviews meant that the arena was only a few hours away and it made her want to throw up. Logically, she felt as if she should have been more prepared, but life wasn’t like that. Her emotions felt very bottled, mixed up, and ready to explode. Tonight might be the last night she and her brother were alive and together.
“Do you think anyone will notice if I take my shoes off?” Moly asked the girl that had come to stand beside her. She was from District Eleven if she recalled correctly. “Congrats on your training score by the way,” she added as she recalled Luna partly because she had been one of the other non-Career tributes to score well.
