Day 5. What was your favorite song to play?
Our show, Blue. This was at the Calgary Stampede, and we only had 2 practices and 3 run throughs to get this down and memorized, so that's why we're not the best looking :P

We Won grand champs in our first parade
Total score: 75.1
I woke up at six when my alarm was set for 7...
Today is the first parade of the season for us! We won this parade the last two years and apparently out two biggest competeing band won't be there. I hope it will be an easy win but who knows. I hope I can remember all the changes we made YESTERDAY. It's really funny though because the drum majors made a poster that says "'Success is 10% inspiration, 90% last minuet changes'"
I also found out who my college roommate is. But I feel like scumbag steve because, unless he calls first, I won't call for a couple of weeks.
Spat camp: day 4
Finally got on the street tonight! and we did the drum brake dance with the capes. didn't go the best, but hopefully we can get it!
it was a later practice so i got to sleep in! Me gusta dormir. (one of my friends is going to Spain today, plus our show is Spanish music, so it fits).
I very excited to lick the street tomorrow!! It's a newer tradition but I still love it!
Spat camp:day 3
We learned the whole show! Now we just need a place long enough to practice it all together. and the cape work (yeah, we have capes this year).
I would write a longer, more in depth review of the day but I am pooped...
Finally! Spat Camp!
Spat Camp: Day one.
Breafast right before conditioning is no fun. Just saying...
But basically, morning- review phase one, afternoon- review phase two, post-dinner- uniforms and put the two together!
Tomorrow we get to learn the third and final phase! Then we can finally put the whole thing together (after only five practices that invovled marching. Nine total I think...)
I can't wait to get the whole show learned! Especally considering our first competition parade is Tuesday.
And it was over almost as soon as it started.
Today was the last day of Alpha camp.
Started at 8 with conditioning (which kicked my but as usual). After that, we reviewd drill till lunch I think...
After lunch, music warm-up, back out to drill AND music then after a while, the hornline got to play start practice with our capes for the drum break. Then the entire band reviewd the whole show (of what we know) then it was time to go home.
What I really love about Lancers, we've only had about 9 practices so far and we know about 2/3 of the show already.
