On This Day In History . 7 August 1821 . Caroline of Brunswick died . ◼ Caroline died at Brandenburg House in Hammersmith at 10:25 p.m. on 7 August 1821 at the age of 53. Her physicians thought she had an intestinal obstruction, but she may have had cancer, although there were rumours at the time that she had been poisoned. . ▪ Caroline was buried in Brunswick Cathedral on the 25th. . . About Caroline; . ◼ Born Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel on 17 May 1768, she was best known as Caroline of Brunswick, & was Queen of the United Kingdom as the wife of King George IV from 29 January 1820 until her death in 1821. Between 1795 & 1820, she was the Princess of Wales. . ◼ Caroline married George, Prince of Wales (later King George IV) in 1795, they had one child, Princess Charlotte of Wales. Shortly after Charlotte's birth, George & Caroline separated. . ◼ In 1817, Caroline's daughter Charlotte died in childbirth; she heard the news from a passing courier as George had refused to write & tell her. . ◼ In 1820, George became king of the United Kingdom & Hanover. George hated her, vowed she would never be the queen, & insisted on a divorce, which she refused. . ◼  Caroline returned to Britain to assert her position as queen. She was wildly popular & the new king was despised for his immoral behaviour. . ◼ In July 1821, Caroline was barred from the coronation on the orders of her husband. woke up v late and ate half a packet of my dates hehe and then we went down to make some food. megs parents drove us up the river after we shoved some floats into the car and then we floated downstream back to the house for an hour and a half hehe and I got my left arm slightly burnt oops. then me and Sarah made a bunch of pasta and tomato sauce and ate it all :) I did the washing up while Alice dried everything and put it all away which was v fun heh. then Meg fucked off on a run with iris and me and Sarah spent 2 hours trying to get the new episode of game of thrones to load before actually watching it. but we had here pretzels and we covered them in peanut butter heheh I'm gunna get so fat :) then David brought pizzas home so lol I'm gunna get sO fat. oh well. had a shower and had a bit of a high so fucked around with meg while Sarah lay there baha and now it's time for bed pls

“ماتخافي من الكلاب؟” قالها الرحيل -أخي الأصغر- بعد أن أمرته بمساعدتي في نقل الكراتين إلى سيارة الخطاب، فأبى بحجة الكلاب القريبة من السيارة. قلت له أن يقرأ الأذكار ويفتح السيارة فالكلاب كانت على بعد متر ونصف تقريبًا، فجاءني بعد دقيقةٍ يلهث وهو يقول أن الكلاب بمجرد استشعارها لصوت أبواب السيارة وهي تفتح اتحدت لتنبح نباحًا عظيمًا. قلت له أن يكف عن مساعدته الرائعة و يعطيني المفتاح وسأتكفل بالموضوع بنفسي، ففتح عينيه على وسعهما وسأل إن كنت لا أخاف من الكلاب، فجاوبته بكل ثقة: لأ. في الحقيقة لا أعلم لم كنت واثقة لهذا الحد، فأنا لم أعش تجربة شخصية مع الكلاب، ولكن كل ما أتذكره هو نصيحة صديق الصف الثالث والذي يسكن في نفس حارتنا عبدالعزيز حين قال لي أن الكلاب لن تركض إليك مادمت ساكنة وواثقة من نفسك لأنّها في لحظة فزعك وصراخك ستعتقد بأنك مجرمة وستفترسك بلا رحمة، و نظرًا لأنه ولد.. ولأنه أكثر مني خبرة في التعامل مع الكلاب فقد صدقته. حين نقلت الكراتين كان قد وصل عددهم إلى سبعة كلابٍ أو أكثر، وبسبب ضجّتي فقد توجهت أعينهم إليّ و بدأوا بالنباح الصاخب وأنا واقفةٌ لا أتحرك، لا أذكر حتى إن شعرت بالخوف أو لا.. فقط تركتُ مابيدي و انتصبت لمقابلتهم مستسلمةً كأنني مجرمة حقيقية، تأمّل فيّ قائد الحزب و غير اتجاهه بعد وهلة، ومشى وراءه الجميع. ابتسمت، كان الأمر يشبه لو أنه عقد صفقةً معي.. “سنرحمك هذه المرة” وبدأت أتخيل قصصًا خيالية كثيرة تجعلني الصديقة البشرية الوحيدة لهم لكي نمشي إلى مسافاتٍ طويلة معا و…… لقد بدأت أغرق في الخيال مجددًا. قد تكون مجرد أفكارٍ عابرة سخيفة، ولكن ال"آي كونتاكت" الذي خضته بالأمس مع صديقي الكلب كان رائعًا، الشيء الجديد الآن هو أنني أستطيع القول بأنني لا أخاف من الكلاب بكل ثقةٍ هذه المرة.
