Mexican artist on the bill for Coachella this year. What a cool artist. He goes in-between traditional Mexican corridos to really smooth downtempo alt-rock. His voice is also super smooth; a really unique place to be and I haven't heard another artist like this before. I really hope he continues to improve.

Our introduction to Tyla. The next R&B pop wave. She is getting an incredible push, but a very timid response from the blogger network. The thing is that the album is good; it's a bop. Regardless if this is a one time thing or if she can pull this off again, it doesn't take away from the well produced mass appeal work here.

That Mexican OT

This is listed as a 'Mixtape' and just as I predicted in my earlier review that I was hoping that he wouldn't get torn up by the industry. This mixtape has DaBaby, Paul Wall, Moneybagg Yo and others which is exactly what I was worried about. I guess since this is a 'mixtape' that features are ok, but again I'm worried now that his originality will be sacrificed in future work. One thing that I appreciate is the artwork. This feels exactly like what a mixtape should be: sharpie on a CD.

That Mexican OT really really shines on this--he's clearly the best one on this piece and the features really just complement him well. He's on a very tight balancing act here.

DSBM album from 2008. I've reviewed them earlier 2023 and actually in 2019 (still working on adding the previous years). There is tremendous progression with this band and the overall genre over time. They actually say it best, "creating soundscapes of isolation since 2005." This puts me in a very melancholy mood, but I don't feel depressed. There are enough melodies here where it gives me hope. Love this album.

Devoured by the Mouth of Hell

I reviewed them back in 2022 and that album got me hooked. They're extremely aggressive so having this at a 33 minute run time is perfect. Their single, 'Seige Lord' is the perfect representation of the band. It offers everything you could want; shrieky vocals and extremely heavy riffs. If you're going to listen to one track, it's this one. They also offer more ambient metal in the track 'Lashed' which is part of the reason why this group is on a different level; they offer something different.

From 412. I have to show them love. They are next in line similar to Code Orange. They're touring everywhere, but still find time to go to New Ken. You can tell that this is an elevated level of metalcore/deathcore that I've discussed multiple times on this site. The tracks are highly distinctive and feels unique in a way that it deserves this rating. This album will serve them well as they continue to grow a fan base while on tour.

Euphoria, Where Were You?

Rock, metalcore, alt-metal band from the UK. A real genre-bending group. There really isn't too much information about the band other than an interview with their release of this EP, but it's only two people. Before the release of this EP they have only released three singles. It should be an exciting time for these guys as their potential is really limitless at this point. I like the fact that they are able to blend genres alot and even their latest single feels much more like shoegaze. This is definitely a group that I would recommend and honestly tough to hate.
