808s & Heartbreaks
I will forever say untill i die that this is my favorite Kanye Album..i know Graduation is amazing..MBDTF was INCREDIBLE musically..College Dropout is a CLASSIC...BUT when it comes to music personally for me, it depends on the impact on me...Granted Kanye went left field with 808s and it gets alot of backlash..the time that he was going through..when he dropped it...i was going through... i was going through one of the darkest times of my life..and so was he...it was such a dark twisted album..But the music spoke in ways i couldnt in conversation or express to anyone else at that time...I was going through one of the hardest breakups...Suffering from my mistakes..i had become someone i didnt even recognize ...This album got me through a crazy point in my life & its one of those albums that is so incredible because you feel like youre relating with the artist on more than just a surface level..more than an album sales level...Hes not shoving generated singles down our throat but actually making a body of work that means something to him. He was vulnerable & it showed in his music..its refreshing when artists show a deeper side to them than the mere surface..So for me, when talking about my FAVORITES...it digs deeper than just the music.
