Hey so I’m trying to read every single issue where the venom symbiote shows up in chronological order. I’m in 80s spiderman and I have a good sense of the plot except for this one thing.
Who is this????

After Reed Richards reveals to Spiderman that his costume is actually an alien, he traps it in the Baxter Building for a couple issues to study it. During this time, a random robot breaks in. This guy in the picture, up there. The symbiote tries to, for lack of a better word, hypnotize it (???) to let the symbiote out of the tube. This doesn’t work but the robot opens the tube anyway to investigate and the symbiote uses this opportunity to run away.
My question is: Who is this robot? Where did it come from? Why is it here? Anyone who knows marvel comics better than I please help
